Mandatory Annual Student Update - Please Complete This Task
All registered students must be updated by September 30th - via Parent Portal

Car Rider Arrival & Dismissal Reminders
ARRIVAL
- School Doors officially open at 8:45 AM.
- PLEASE have car-riders REMAIN in vehicles until staff is in place at 8:45 AM.
- Walkers will be assembling under the canopy by the front doors, but we request car-riders remain in vehicles so traffic is not moving while children are walking to school.
- We will have a crosswalk attendee supporting student walker arrival and traffic flow.
- Please keep your eyes open for student walkers and adhere to speed limit postings.
DISMISSAL
- Car-Rider dismissal will again take place from our Gym Atrium Doors.
- Parents remain in vehicles at all times; a staff member will call the student to meet the vehicle in our pull-around spaces.
- A placard will be provided to each family on the first day - please fill-out and place on dashboard for quicker processing in the year.
With the start of the new year, timing will continue to improve - new routines for students and personnel takes time. There was a dramatic improvement in timing from day one to day two - Thank you Families! Soon, our dismissal procedures will be efficient and familiar - we just ask (kindly) for your understanding and patience.
Absence Reporting Update - Families
In 21-22, the Central Bucks School District adjusted the way in which absences are reported. The system is continuing this year - please follow these protocols:
Key Points:
- Parents and guardians are able to submit absence requests via the Parent Portal. Parents can request a full day absence, early dismissal, or late arrival.
- Absence requests will be reviewed by school attendance staff and approved or denied.
- Requests made using the parent portal will also serve as the excuse for the absence. Parents will not be required to submit an excuse either electronic or written if on the portal.
- Parents and guardians may also still call or email the school to report an absence.
In addition, when a student is absent from school, but the school did not receive communication from the parent or guardian, the following communication will be sent:
- A text message will be sent 10:30 AM notifying the parent or guardian of the absence.
- An email will also be sent at the same time reminding the parent or guardian that the student was marked absent.
- If the written notification is sent in error, please contact the school 267-893-4250 to resolve the conflict.
Please Note: Butler_Attendance is NO LONGER an option for reporting absences. Please email the teacher and the Attendance Secretary (Michele Droxler) mdroxler@cbsd.org.
Information regarding how to use the Parent Portal to report an absence can be found here.

We encourage all families to put money on their students account through MySchoolBucks.com - and are attempting to limit the need for cash transactions to simplify the process for your elementary child.
All menus are available to be viewed online up to 2 weeks in advance by visiting cbsd.nutrislice.com.

CB Aquatics - Employment Opportunity
Central Bucks Aquatics has openings for assistant swim coaches for our introductory and competitive swim teams for the 2022-2023 school year. This is often a great fit for individuals who already work for CBSD. If you have prior swimming and/or coaching experience, that is great but if not, we will train you. Practices are at CB East and CB South High Schools.
Typical Practice Days/Times
Exact practice times vary throughout the year but are generally 2 to 3 hours within these time frames:
Monday through Thursday 5:30 – 9 p.m.
Occasional Fridays 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Some Saturday mornings 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Additional opportunities are available for coaches with previous USAS coaching experience.
Contact Roberta Lichter at rlichter@cbsd.org for more information and to apply.
CB Student Services Department
Our Central Bucks “Guidance” Department will now be known as “Student Services” Department. We are making this name change K-12 to better represent the wide-range of services that our Department provides to students and families across the district. While we certainly provide “guidance” to students, our School Counselors, School Psychologists, Student Support Social Workers, Student Support Counselors, and Nurses provide services including academic planning; college and career planning; social and emotional programs and initiatives; physical wellness; connections to community resources (financial, housing, food, services); and educational record management. We look forward to seeing students and families in our Student Services Office!

Consider an Instrument - 4th, 5th, and 6th Grades
String Lessons are available to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.
Band Lessons are available to 5th and 6th graders.
Mrs. Hartzell (Orchestra Director) and Mr. Robinson (Band Director) hope to see a lot of new band and string students and cannot wait to get started this year! We look forward to teaching the students how to play an instrument and to best prepare for the end of year concerts. Today, we held an assembly for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students to demonstrate all of the different instruments, answer questions, and share the joy of being a musician and joining the music program. We always encourage students to pick the instrument that they most like and the sound it makes!
If you have any questions, please email the string or band director:
