Langkawi Island Beach
Langkawi, was thought to mean "the land of all one's wishes," and could be the combination of two Malay words: "helang," which means eagle, and "kawi," which means brave. It is an archipelago of 99 islands (5 of which appear during low tide) in the Adaman Sea. Dubbed Jewel of Kedah, Langkawi has about 65,000 in population.
Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumper
The Petronas Towers, finished in 1998, is one of the tallest buildings in the world. Costing $1.6 billion, it has 88 floors and 78 elevators. What a sight!
Malaysian Flag
The Malaysian Flag means many things. The red and white alternating stripes represent the 14 states of Malaysia. The 14 points on the yellow star means the same thing. The color blue means vigilance, truth, loyalty, perseverance, and justice. The blue field also symbolizes the uniting of the Malaysian people. Red means hardiness, bravery, strength, and heroism. White represents peace and honesty, and the yellow is the color of the royal family. The cresent and star means Islam.

Language
There are 140 languages spoken in Malaysia. 138 are still living, and 2 are extinct. But the most common language is Malay. Speakers of standard Malay go till 18 million. Also, about 170 million people speak Indonesian, which is a form of Malay. Malay is also called Bahasa Melayu.

Nasi Lemak
Served on a banana leaf, Nasi means rice, and Lemak means fat. So Nasi Lemak means "Fatty Rice," but it is not necessarily "fat"; coconut milk is actually healty, the fat is saturated, and even though Malaysians eat a lot of this, they are pretty skinny. (Mom's Favorite Dish of All Time!)
Ubudiah Mosque
This is one of Malaysia's most high-ranking and beautiful Mosques. It is located is Kuala Kangsar.
Malay Language
It is not the whole thing but the translation is: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. (From Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights)

Batu Cave Temple
Batu Cave, even with all the monkeys, is a Hindu Temple located in Kuala Lumper. A golden statue of Lord Murugan stands at the front. Statues of Gods sit/stand tall, with monkeys living there. The 272 steps leading up to Batu Cave are rewarded by...more steps!!! (I have actually been there!)

Government and Citizenship of Malaysia
Malaysian Government
This is the capitol building of Malaysia. It is kind of like the White House in Malaysia. Did you notice the domes? They represent Islam.
Kuala Lumper
This is the Capital of Malaysia. The Twin Towers, or the Petronas towers are located there.
Government Logo
This is the government logo of Malaysia. The Crescent Moon and Star mean the same thing as the flag. Tigers are Malaysia's national animal, and the 5 swords represents the prime ministers. The pictures represent different states, like the palm tree is Penang.

Meaning "jagged" in Malay, the riggit is divided into 100 sen (cents). It is worth .32 of a U.S. Dollar.
Brunei Dollar
The Brunei Dollar, uncommonly used in Malaysia, is worth about .81 of a U.S. Dollar.
Singapore Dollar
The Singapore Dollar is also uncommonly used in Malaysia. Surprisingly, the Singapore Dollar is also worth about .81 of a U.S. dollar.
