Fighting With The Word

by Elder Williams

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Cor 10:4 KJV)

If the weapons of our warfare are not carnal; then why is it that we, continue to try to fight against natural things, in a natural way? How do you ever expect to gain the victory if we’re not even in the right fight? When I watched the Olympics, nobody was given a medal for a sport that they didn’t compete in. If we intend to gain the victory we first must stop fighting the enemy and focus our efforts in the right direction. When we do this two thing happen.

First we realize the people are not our problem. Satan and his minions are the source of all our woes. Their strategy is to trick us into doing what they can’t do which is defeat us. They know they are defeated and that have no power over us, but as long as they can trick you into yielding your power, you actually beat yourself for them. Secondly, we see that we don’t have to fight, our power comes from HIM. Through HIM we’ve already won. God has already given us everything we need to fight and win every battle.

Christ gave the greatest example in the wilderness when He was tempted. He overcame by using the Word and enemy fled. The fact that we have certain circumstances that arise in our lives is not an indication that we has sinned or are not in right standing. These attacks are moment that should strengthen our walk and faith. If we align with His Word we have access to “all power” through Christ Jesus, which can pull down any stronghold and destroy any yoke. It is when we quit fighting against flesh and do battle in the spirit that we stand in the place of victory. Prayer and The Word are our weapons of choice. When we’ve accessed these weapon we can stand in our faith and bold speak to the mountain and it shall truly be moved (Mt 17:20).
