IT’S SPIRIT WEEK!
CHS is throwing it back this week to celebrate the kickoff of Fall Sports and this week’s football game at Queen Creek H.S. Students are encouraged to participate in each day’s themed dress, lunchtime activities, and Friday morning’s pre-game party. Let’s show our spirit, Wolves!
WOLVES WIN IN NEVADA
Congratulations to the Varsity Wolves who opened the football season on the road on Friday, defeating Liberty High (NV) 31-17, and thanks to everyone who traveled to support the team! What a game!
IB LEADERS
CHS is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, and we take pride in our students’ holistic development as inquirers, both in the classroom and outside.
The IB Club’s goal this year is to build a close-knit IB community that can help every student flourish in their learning and exploring. In fostering mentorship and collaboration amongst IB students, everyone can reflect on their experiences while also learning from each other. According to Katherine Chou, IB Club President, “Helping students succeed on their IB exams is an important objective for us, but perhaps more importantly, we also want to encourage students to take their IB education past test scores—to be active leaders and learners in their communities and the world.” CHS IB students truly are leaders!
STUDENT SENATE
Student Council held its 1st Student Senate meeting last week. Student Senate is comprised of students from each 2nd hour homeroom class. It is an opportunity for students to provide feedback about StuCo events, along with sharing new ideas. Students discussed spirit week themes, Fall Fest participation, homecoming parade, and the new student spirit club called Code Blue.

IMPACT CHANDLER SCHOLARS
JUNIORS: The deadline for submitting 35 hours for the IMPACT Scholars program has been extended until August 30th.
The IMPACT Scholars program requires a student’s formal commitment during their freshman year. Students commit to:
· Maintain a 3.4 or greater GPA
· Cumulative attendance at 95% or greater
· Submit at least 35 hours of community service before the first day of their junior year
· Submit at least 100 hours of community service before April 1st of their senior year
Students who fulfill all program requirements are considered IMPACT Scholars and receive additional honors at graduation including letters of recommendation and an honor cord to wear with their cap and gown. IMPACT Chandler Scholars are then considered eligible to apply for an IMPACT Scholarship. In years past, this scholarship has been approximately $1,000 per award and is based upon available funding each year. In 2019, the Foundation awarded over $72,000 in IMPACT Scholarships.
