January 2022-2023 School Year
Dear Eagle Families,
December was a month to remember for sure. I want to thank every single one of you that was able to come to the Pancakes and Pajamas event on the last day of school before the break. Everyone stated that we had record breaking attendance. There were so many smiling faces. We truly hope between the pancakes, pajamas and then our sing-along, we were able to send you children home on a happy note. I hope everyone was able to enjoy their days away from school to relax and enjoy some quality time with those that you care about most. Our community and families are the best and you all deserve the best. Spring has sprung. The second semester is here and we know it is going to go by so quickly. Please continue to ask our students about their day. Encourage them to read and make time to listen to them read or ask them about what they are reading. It is always a good goal to aim to reach their AR goals in the classroom. If you are not sure what their goal is, please reach out to their teacher. I continue feel blessed every single time I walk through the front doors of our beautiful campus. Your children are amazing and that is all because of you. Your support is everything. This is what helps our teachers continue to provide amazing learning experiences.
I will be asking for your help yet again. Our district will be sending out information about a climate survey. The information we receive from this survey will help us make changes for the better. This also helps us as we make adjustments to our budget expenditures. This should be coming to you during the window of January 12-26. Please fill out the survey so that Los Encinos can make positive changes that will benefit our students and teachers.
Some new information from our district is making us the change to electronic report cards. CCISD is transitioning to the issuance of report cards and progress reports to be through electronic delivery. Beginning with the issuance of the 3rd six weeks report cards on January 13, 2023, campuses will no longer receive and distribute paper copies of report cards or progress reports, unless the parent makes a request to the campus for a printed copy. A statement regarding this transition was printed on all progress reports sent home on Friday, December 10th.
With this process, you (parent/guardian) will be prompted to provide an electronic signature. The request of the electronic signature allows the district to comply with the state requirement of seeking a parent signature on the report card. The parent will be prompted to acknowledge receipt of the report card and progress report by clicking an “I Agree” button. Specifically, the parent is agreeing to the following statement, “By clicking the ‘I Agree’ button below, I am providing my electronic signature which indicates the following: my review and receipt of my child’s electronic report card, my right to request a conference with my student’s teacher to review my child’s performance, and my right to request a printed copy of my child’s report card from the campus to submit a handwritten signature.”
The electronic report card and progress report are available in the Canvas Backpack. Both students and parents have access to these records in Canvas Backpack.
Here are some videos created by Instructional Technology. These are parent informational videos about accessing your Canvas account. These are not new videos; these were created by IT as a resource for you as CCISD increased its use of the Canvas platform.
Please make sure you have a copy of the district calendar. We have several 4 day weeks ahead. Please make sure you follow us on Facebook and on Twitter. @LosEncinosES This is the quickest way we get out any new information. I also share via School Messenger with voice messages and email. You should be receiving these notifications if you have your most recent phone number and email on file with our front office.
Thank you in advance for working with our students and staff to ensure that we provide a safe learning environment and community. Please know that the safety of everyone in our building is extremely important to us. If you have any questions at all please contact us.
With much respect,
Laura Perales, Proud Los Encinos Principal

- Start time - School starts at 7:50am. Please be on time. We are already seeing an increase in tardies.
