TWO WEEKS LEFT
Message from your Principal
Hello Eagles! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! STAAR testing has now concluded and only our 8th grade Algebra I scores have come in and our Eagles did GREAT on this particular exam!! We had 97% of our scholars pass. This is unbelievable and our scholars had the best scores in the entire district!! I am so proud of our kids and our hard working teachers. Not only did we have a great passing rate but 63% of our Eagles received MASTERS, the highest rating you can get on the STAAR exam. WOW!!! Eighth grade parents, please congratulate your children and let them know how amazing they are! We are waiting on the other scores and will reach out to you when we receive them.
It is now "end of the year concerts" and "awards" season. Teachers will nominate those who will be invited to the awards ceremony for 6th and 7th grade. Please keep an eye out for that invitation. ALL 8th graders will receive a certificate and at that time we will hand out individual awards. Please see below for all dates and information.
Parents, we have seen an increase in discipline these past couple of weeks. Please talk to our children about behaving appropriately for these last few days of school. We appreciate all your support and we are looking forward to a great week!!
Go Eagles!!

Cell Phone Policy
Ensor does not allow cell phone/earbud use from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM and also during after school tutoring. If confiscated, the phone or earbuds will be turned into the front office and parents will need to pick up items. First confiscation is free, the second time and all other times after that, there will be a $15 charge. We thank you for your support.
Pedestrian Safety
Pedestrian safety is an initiative we are starting in #TeamSISD. I want to remind you to please slow down when you are driving around the school. Please refrain from using your cell phones and be aware of scholars who may be crossing. I also want to remind our children about the importance of using crosswalks when walking to and from school or getting off and on the bus.
Face Masks Optional
The use of face masks in Socorro Independent School District schools, facilities and school buses is optional. All students, employees, staff and visitors may or may not wear a face mask while on SISD campuses, district buildings and buses. Voluntary compliance is strongly recommended for Pre-K and medically fragile classrooms.
Attendance
Please ensure your children are attending all day, everyday. If in the event that your child is absent for an illness or a doctors visit, please turn in documentation to our front office so that the absence will be excused.
Scholars with 5 or more absences up until now are now falling below 90% of their instructional time. These scholars will need to initiate a 45 Day Attendance Improvement Plan and be required to attend Loss of Credit (LOC) sessions.
Dress Code
Dress code is being enforced. Any scholar out of dress code will be required to attend after school detention on Fridays for 30 minutes. Warnings were given the first two days we came back from break. Transportation WILL NOT be provided for those who receive detention. Please click here to view our dress code policy.
