Successful Safety Drill Completed Today
Coyote Trail Families,
As part of our continual efforts to provide a safe and secure learning environment at our school, I want to inform you that Coyote Trail performed a shelter-in-place drill today. This was a planned drill and not a response to any threat.
School administration, with the support of the District office and local law enforcement teams, conducts safety drills to practice our Emergency Response procedures, ensuring students and staff are aware of processes including where to report, what to do, and how as a school we would respond in the event of a real emergency.
Had this been a real emergency, you would have received timely e-mail/text messages providing updates and information on steps you can take to help us keep all parties safe.
These drills also assist us in identifying any gaps or issues in protocols so that they may be addressed and improved upon. This drill took fifteen minutes and all students and staff returned quickly to their normal classroom and school operations.
Last week we practiced a fire drill, today was a shelter-in-place drill and next Friday we will practice our lock-down drill procedures.
I am proud to say that everyone responded quickly and in the manner we had hoped for. If you have any questions or concerns about today's drills, or anything else, please do not hesitate to contact me.
