Duneland School Corporation to host series of Public Meetings
Planning for the Next 50 Years of Serving Our Community and Students
On February 4, 2019, the locally elected Duneland School Corporation Board passed a resolution establishing that the Corporation will pursue a referendum that would, if passed by the voters residing in the Corporation, allow for a continuance of the referendum tax rate not to exceed $0.22.
This referendum will help us recruit and retain outstanding teachers and staff who work each day with the 5,872 students of our school district.
Duneland School Corporation invites you to join us for a series of public meetings to provide you with more information about the proposed referendum.
Our leadership is dedicated to continuing our practice of being open and transparent, and look forward to serving our community and students for another 50 years!

Happy 50th Anniversary Duneland School Corporation!
January 1, 2019 marked the 50th anniversary of the incorporation of the Duneland School Corporation. The Duneland School district was formed after voters from Westchester Township, Jackson Township, Liberty Township and parts of Pine Township agreed to the Incorporation of the new school district.
Since that decision to incorporate, the Duneland School has grown into an excellent school district and has celebrated many state and national accomplishments.
Check out our Celebrating 50 Years page for some new historical documents from the newly formed Duneland School Board of 1969.

CHS Alumni Association coming soon!
Representatives from Duneland School Corporation and Chesterton High School alumni will make an announcement very soon regarding the the final details of a new alumni association. A planning committee consisting of a few school representatives and CHS alumni have been working on details for the past six months. This endeavor is one that many can be involved in once it has been formally established.
This alumni association would support the Duneland Schools and its goals, and strengthen the ties between alumni of Chesterton High School and all former township schools (Jackson, Liberty, Westchester) that make-up the Duneland School District, and the community.
Please watch for information to be released very soon in our school newsletters, website, online and in the local newspapers regarding membership opportunities, activities and events for this new group.
