Harrowsmith PS Weekly Update
December 8th
Good Afternoon Harrowsmith Families.
A quick note of thanks to the Parent Council for making and delivering hot chocolate for our students on our annual Jingle Bell Walk. We had a great weather day for the event which made the event even better. Many of our students were able to make many laps around the school. It was great to see so many parents join us for our walk.
Friday was a busy day as we had our Jingle Bell Walk and the Sydenham High School band joined us and played for about 45 minutes. Songs ranged from the classic Christmas songs to some classic rock songs. Our students were introduced to the instruments that were used. It was especially wonderful to see some of our Harrowsmith PS graduates in the band.
Our food drive has wrapped up for this year and the donations have been delivered to our local food bank. Thank you to all who donated and for our student council for organizing the event. Special mention to Ms Mayhew's class for collecting the most items.
As winter makes an appearance, please be sure to provide additional clothing especially for our younger students. Sock and mitts often get wet during the day making them uncomfortable for them to be put back on. I would always suggest layering clothing as this is the best way to ensure comfort in the changing weather.
As always, snow on the school yard is for building only, should a snow creation be made on the yard, we ask students to respect the efforts of others who created it by not breaking it. As well, for safety reasons, we will be closing our climbers shortly.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call.
