Cooper Visits Preschoolers

Cooper is back at Sprague visiting preschoolers weekly giving them joy and happiness as they read books to him, cuddle with him or take him on walks through the school.

District 103 is offering a Preschool Screening for district residents on Thursday, Nov. 14, for three- and four-year-old children for whom there may be concerns in the areas of gross or fine motor skills, speech/language, or conceptual development. To reserve an appointment time, please call Mary Burks at (847) 457-9313.

School Receives $5,000 in Robot Kits

On behalf of Thomas O’Donnell, Peter Taylor and the entire ECMC Foundation, Sprauge School has been awarded a gift in the amount of $5,000 to purchase Kibo and Dash robots and accessories for design and engineering projects to further STEM related learning.

November Lunch Menus

November lunch menus are now available for students to view.

Holiday Celebrations

Sprague will celebrate Halloween on Thursday, Oct. 31 with a parade and classroom party. Please review the school news bulletin for parade and parking information. In lieu of Halloween activities, students can opt to participate in a Harvest Celebration. Parents should fill out an interest form if they would like their child to participate in the Harvest Celebration.

Sprague to Recognize Veterans

We are seeking local veterans to attend Sprague's Annual Veterans Day assembly. The Assembly will be on Monday, Nov. 11 at 9:00 a.m. Please email Principal Hofmeier at ahofmeier@d103.org if you are interested in participating.

Family Book Club

About A Morning with Grandpa: Mei Mei's grandpa is practicing tai chi in the garden, and Mei Mei is eager to join in. As Gong Gong tries to teach her the slow, graceful movements, Mei Mei enthusiastically does them with her own flair. Then Mei Mei takes a turn, trying to teach Gong Gong the yoga she learned in school. Will Gong Gong be able to master the stretchy, bendy poses?


  • Please join us for first-grade Game Night at Sprague from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8. Show your interest in attending by registering for the event.

  • Show your commitment to the Shoebox project by signing up to donate some of the following items. Please drop supplies off at Sprague between Oct. 21-23.

    • Sending in adult size shoeboxes

    • Send in unused toiletries

    • Send in children’s toys, stuffed animals, T-shirts - new or gently used
