MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL LAMBERT
Dear Mariano Castro Parents,
As the December break draws closer, students get more excited about the holidays. Please help your child to stay focused on their work and their good behavior for these last seven days!
This year over the break we will be sending home a reading log for students to record their minutes or pages read. Students are expected to return this reading log, signed by parents, when we return to school on Wed. Jan. 3rd.
THANK YOU TO PTA!
What an amazing PTA event night! Our school community came together to enjoy the First Annual Festival of Lights. Many PTA parents planned this great fundraiser and fun family event and worked hard for several days to make it happen. Excellent tamales, elote, posole, warm punch, taquitos, tostadas, and desserts were for sale and families took pictures with Santa, had great piñata fun, and enjoyed the children's creativity tables. Thank you to the many local businesses that donated the supplies to support our terrific PTA!
STUDENT COUNCIL LEADERS!
Castro's Student Council leaders decorated one of the 10 city trees for Mountain View's Winter Walk at the tree lighting ceremony in Civic Center Plaza. Since we are the Mariano Castro Dolphins, the students chose an ocean colors theme. Thank you to the city of Mountain View for inviting us to participate!
Best Regards,
Theresa Lambert

Art and Music Learning Supports ALL Learning!
You might have noticed that your kids have a natural love for art and music. But did you know that research shows that music and theater studies strongly correlate with better performance in both math and reading? And that many studies show that art studies and activities help keep high-risk students from dropping out? MVEF is proud to fund CSMA art and music at our schools! Ask your child what he or she learned today in their music or art class!
