Manassas Park City Schools strives to always provide a safe learning environment for our students. This includes teaching Digital Citizenship and Internet Safety as well as using filtering and monitoring software on MPCS devices. We encourage parents to talk to their child about safe use of the Internet no matter what device they are using. A recent topic in the news is centered around a scary character being featured in children video. Although we have not seen such videos at school, the following resources may be helpful in talking to your child about appropriate Internet use.

We are excited to announce that Project U.P, MPCS’s newest career-based elementary initiative, will be returning this spring! Project U.P. will be “taking-off” on April 10, 11, and 12! In addition to exciting new flights, career exploration opportunities, and engaging assemblies, Project U.P. will be offering field trips! Permission slips are due back by Thursday, March 28,2019. Payments can be made online through www.myschoolbucks.com, by cash, by check, or by money order made out to Cougar Elementary School.
**Medication expiration dates**: if your child requires emergency medications (epipens, inhalers, etc.) please make sure they are valid and up to date prior to going on the field trip. Students will not be able to attend the field trip if their necessary emergency medications are expired.
Any questions? Explore the Project U.P. website or reach out to the CES building coordinators, Ms. Kristen Fink (firstname.lastname@example.org) & Mrs. Malia Hayes (email@example.com). We can’t wait to see what this spring’s program will bring!
Crayola Colorcycling Program
In honor of Earth Day coming up, our school is teaming up with Crayola for their ColorCycling program to encourage reducing, reusing, and recycling to help keep our planet clean! We are asking them to collect old Crayola markers and bring them to school in order to send to Crayola to be recycled into new markers.
A Note from your Nurse…
Quite a few of our inhalers and Epi-pens have expired, or are due to expire in April.
These emergency medications must accompany your child during a field trip.
Please check with nursing to see if your child’s medication needs renewal.
