FROM THE DESK OF MRS. FIELDS
It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over! Thank you for your part in making this a PAWsome experience for your child.
Staffing changes for 2016-2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the retirement of Mrs. Judy Ryan, our art teacher. Mrs. Ryan has been at Hershey for 6 years and with the TSC for 38 years. Judy is looking forward to spending more time with her children and grandchild during the upcoming years.
We are also saying goodbye to Mrs. Cindy Yeater, fourth grade teacher. Mrs. Yeater and her husband will be moving closer to family in the beautiful state of Tennessee. While we realize this is a wonderful opportunity for her family, we are greatly saddened by her departure.
Kathy Bassett, our speech teacher, recently announced her retirement. Kathy has been a Speech Therapist for the past 29 years, and has done amazing things with her students during this time. Those of you who have had the pleasure of working with her know her love for students was apparent in all that she did.
Jessica Cummings, our media and tech aide, is also relocating. Jessica has been with us for the past four years and has been a tremendous asset to our faculty and students. She, too, will be greatly missed!
We wish these ladies all the best as they enter this new phase in their lives.
I do have some good news to share! Mrs. Sarah Ferguson is returning to Hershey as our new fourth grade teacher! Mrs. Ferguson previously taught fifth grade for us; however, her family moved to the Indianapolis area where she taught fourth grade this past year. To our great fortune, she and her family have returned to the community and we are thrilled that we are able to bring her back to Hershey.
Mrs. Michelle Beimfohr will be replacing Jessica Cummings as our media/tech aide. Mrs. Beimfohr worked as a paraprofessional at Hershey this past year and she is excited to take on this new role.
We are currently interviewing candidates for the art teacher. If you know of anyone certified to teach art, please have them contact me as soon as possible!
MRS. LEHMAN'S UPDATES AND INFORMATION
Student Council: THANK YOU for the generous donations for Camp WACK! Hershey Elementary donated an estimated total of $700! That will really make an impact for Camp WACK participants. It is such a great feeling to be able to donate to such a wonderful program. If you are interested in finding out more about Camp WACK or if you want to volunteer, go to campwack.org and fill out the volunteer form. This year, Camp WACK is offered July 12,13 and 14. This is a perfect time to be in a lake.
Thank you: As we end the 2015-2016 academic year, I want to let you know how very proud I am of each one of our students. Mrs. Fields and I had the opportunity to eat lunch with every student this year! WOW! This was the highlight of our day! It was such a joy.
Have a wonderful and safe summer,
