We have our TK students taking ownership of their learning! They are now writers! So many kids are not choosing to write during their center time, using clues from around the room to write complete sentences! YEAH for TK, thanks Shannon and Karen!
Heard from 4th grade that students are now beginning to understand how to close read. They are finding that kids are reading more complex text and comprehending it. Over time it will get easier and easier...slow and steady wins the race.
BTSA observers were VERY impressed with what they saw at our school this past week. Thank you for opening up your rooms to them, our new teachers are so grateful!
Reminders/Announcements
- It is always a little confusing about what to call in if you need to take a day off. Here is the explanation from the SMEA/SMUSD Contract. Many times when making doctor's appointments it is necessary to leave before contract time. We have no problem with this and understand when this happens. Just make sure to let Rolayne or I know you are leaving earlier than 3:45. We ask this in the event that we need to find you after school for any reason. Thanks!

Personal leave may be used for any purpose, which the unit member deems sufficiently important. 2. A unit member shall notify the unit member’s Principal at least four (4) days in advance of taking such leave, and shall be approved subject only to the availability of a substitute.
