January 2019 Edition

Welcome Back!
We hope you have enjoyed a wonderful, restful, and memorable break with your families! We had a wonderful first day back with your children and look forward to watching them continue to grown, learn, and change in the months ahead. Please read and make note of the upcoming events this month.
Thank you for being a part of our East team!
Melissa, Ashley, and Courtney

Mid-Year Reminders!
- Please label all coats and jackets to help assist us in getting them back to their owners.
- All transportation changes need to occur prior to 2:30 p.m.
- Only PreK parents are allowed to park and drop-off/pick-up their students and we need the PreK students to be walked all the way across the crosswalk. PreK parents -- we need your help in dropping them off in this manner to help our line run more efficiently.
- Please plan for the traffic in the mornings and arrive in time for your child to be at school and inside the building by 7:45 a.m. If a traffic situation occurs (fog, accident, weather, etc.), your child will not be marked tardy and we will adjust accordingly. On normal days, we see a lot of lag time in the line from 7:20 a.m. - 7:35 a.m.
- If you plan to eat lunch with your child, please remember to sit in the designated area and that you may only eat with your own child.
- If your child becomes ill at school and you are contacted by the campus nurse, please make arrangements to pick up your child within 1 hour. They must be free from illness symptoms for a full 24 hours before they can return to school.

Be on the lookout for information about our Spring Carnival that will be happening in March! | Reading with Your Children Many parents ask what they can do to help their child be more successful in school. The answer is truly quite simple. A child's reading skills are essential to their success in school, the workplace, and life in general. Reading with your child has benefits you may not have even been aware of. Take a moment to read this brief article (click here) to understand more about the importance of reading at home and what it can mean for your child for a lifetime. | Mrs. RogasOne of our precious teachers, Mrs. Julie Rogas, is currently battling melanoma. Since you are all part of our East family, we wanted you to know and for you to be able to join us as we pray for Julie and her family. We are thankful for many in our community that have rallied around her and her family at this time! |
