Vote November 6, 2018!
Lake Orion Community Schools’ November Bond Proposal Election is only a few weeks away on Nov. 6, 2018.
As a district, we want as many community members as possible to understand the proposal and have all of the accurate information. All of the documents and video presentations are available on LOCSBond.org. A direct link to the Bond Proposal video is available at https://goo.gl/cNg5Y3. Please share this with your friends and neighbors.
Congratulations Mrs. Faber!

Parent Teacher Conferences
My suggestion . . . list your child(ren)'s teachers in alphabetical order. When you enter the program by clicking the arrow in the top right of PowerSchool all teachers will be in abc order. You get five minutes with each teacher at your conference. If your child has the teacher for more than one class, book five minutes for EACH class. In the end print off your schedule for the evening. It is that easy!
Make sure you have your parent PowerSchool log in. You cannot register using your child's account. NO walk in conferences will be accepted so please make sure to sign up.
Positivity Project
Identifying and appreciating the good in others isn’t always what comes naturally. Often, it’s easier to blame others for our problems or find flaws in others to use as excuses for our own jealousy, bitterness, or resentment.
To see the good in others, we must first slow down and take the time to pay attention. Look for the intentions behind people’s words and actions. If you feel slighted, you can use perspective and ask, “Did that person intend to hurt me or did he/she just come across in an awkward manner?”
So, why is this important? Identifying and appreciating the good in other people helps you see the world through a more positive – and less threatening – lens. If you’re constantly seeing the negative traits of people, you’re going to think the world is comprised of bad people – and you’re going to operate from a defensive posture. This isn’t to say that we should be naïve or see the world, and its people, through “rose-colored glasses.” It's just that we should strive to understand people's intent.
