through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Hockey Big Day Out
Last Friday we went to Hockey big day out. It was fun. There was a canteen where you could get hot dogs and other treats. There were a few schools there and the Black sticks who taught us how to play.
We won lots of games and had lots of fun.
Congratulations
Students took part in the local RTLB Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori Language week art competition.

Mine Visit
St Joseph's Waihi School went to the Museum to learn about mining history. First we went to a room. Then Debbie talked about mining history with a powerpoint. I learned miners put their thumb under the cart to get it chopped off! They got compensation. so the cart can go to the rail without being stuck.
Next we went to see models about mining history. I learned when company stopped working; there were radio, tv, bikes to keep the Waihi community alive and somethings were cheap and something s were expensive.
After that we went back to the room and did puzzle and match the word with the picture. I found out miners get paid five dollars a week.
Finally we did a quizz. Debbie chose 4 smart people and 4 loud people. Debbie asked a question and the 4 loud people were the buttons and the 4 smart people had to touch their head and tell the answer.
After the quizz we went back to school and the Waihi Museum was fun. I felt happy and a little scared. The models of the prisioner's were scary and l liked the mine shaft.

Museum Visit
On Monday (18th September) our school (St Joseph's ,Waihi) went to the museum (in Waihi). To get to the Museum we went in the school van. (When I say WE I mean everybody EXCEPT me and Jaycee).
So when we did get there (Not on the School Van) we went inside and walked into the room with a bunch of chairs. So me and mu friends sat at the back. After we sat in our seats a lady named Debbie told us about when the gold mine was first discovered and how people carried their lunch and stuff like that.
After that the teachers split us into 2 groups one of the groups went into the museum area and the rest of us were doing activities like puzzles.
Me and Jaycee decided to do a competition on who could solve a puzzle first... he won. When the other group was done we went into the place with all the exhibits and stuff.
In conclusion I liked the Museum because it was creepy and cool because of the thumb and the jail cells. The only reason I'm ending this is because I ran out of time.
