Falcon Flyer
September 16, 2016
Dear Friendship Families,
We kicked off the week by showing our support for our first responders in wearing red, white, and blue. And on that same day we honored our Grandparents and Grand Persons. It was a great day for our students to have some fun with their special guest(s) while they enjoyed lunch and our photo booth!
Friday was our Pickles, Popcorn & Spirit Sticks at Friendship Elementary! Students showed up and lines formed quickly for this popular PTA event. A huge thank you to PTA's Pam Fox and all her volunteers who helped make it a success! Don't worry if your student was unable to get one of the Pokemon spirit sticks on Friday. There will be more for sale at a later date.
Coach Black, Mrs. Bradshaw and Mrs. Sanchez were with me at Run in the Dark last night. We were able to bind several of our Falcons, and we loved taking pictures with each of them! At next year's event we'll identify a meeting place for all the Falcons to go so we can take a group picture! Stay tuned for other Fun Run opportunities later this school year.
Don't forget Wednesday is College Colors Day! Please join students, teachers and staff across the district in wearing your favorite college tshirt/attire. Use #KISDCollegeColors to post your pictures to Twitter and to follow along throughout the day.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!
Love,
Casey
North Texas Giving Day
Give back to your schools and your community this year with North Texas Giving Day and the Keller ISD Education Foundation. The Keller ISD Education Foundation supports every school in the district through classroom teaching grants, our scholarship program and district wide academic programs. Last year Friendship Elementary teachers Kristi Ryan and Tammy Mack were awarded grants from the Education Foundation. Mrs. Ryan's grant "LEGO of Writing Frustration" and Mrs. Mack's grant "Adventures in Letterland" have allowed our Falcons to learn in ways that would not have been possible without the support of the Keller ISD Education Foundation.
100% of your donation will go directly to improving your community and will be multiplied on North Texas Giving Day. Bookmark the link found here, and on September 22nd donate to make Keller ISD a district where exceptional opportunities are available to all students.
We would encourage you to share this information with your family and friends to help us spread the word about how the Keller ISD Education Foundation helps our students at Friendship!
Thank You's and Shout Out's to:
Becky Scott played an important part in our Grandparent's Day fun as she took pictures at the photo booth for the entire event. Thank you Becky!!
Thank you to Pam Fox and her team of volunteers for the free spirit sticks on Monday. We saw so many of our Falcons proudly displaying their Friends spirit stick on their backpacks.

Notes from Nurse Robin
As a reminder, students are not allowed to carry medications in their backpacks. All medication requires a form to be completed by the parent and turned into the nurse by the parent so the medication can be given in the nurse's clinic. Cough drops are considered a medication and need to be brought into the nurse's clinic as well. Please call Nurse Robin with any questions or concerns. 817-744-6220.
Also, if you need assistance in getting an Epi Pen for your child, you can go to the following link for help:
