July 20, 2020 School Board Meeting/workshop
The July 20, 2020 School Board meeting/workshop will be held at Rifle High School beginning at 5:30 p.m. This venue will allow for a greater number of participants with physical distancing. The agenda is attached below.
We know that staff and families have a heightened interest in this plan. We will be holding our meeting at Rifle High School so that we are able to accommodate more people in-person with physical distancing. We are grateful for the hours of service many staff, administrators and community members gave to this effort.
The Board is also providing additional, live, opportunities for public comment at school board meetings while we are continuing to adapt to public health physical distancing requirements.
Citizens will still be able to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and have it read into the record. Emails must be received by 4:30 p.m. the day of the school board meeting and should include your name, physical address and phone number.
If you would like to learn more about the Returning to Learning plan, we encourage you to watch this meeting via Zoom. Spanish interpretation will be available. You must have a current version of Zoom to take advantage of this option.
If you would like to participate in public audience and address the board via Zoom or in person, you may notify us of your “intent to participate” via email @ email@example.com by 4:30 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2020. You may also send your comments via email to the same address by 4:30 Monday, July 20. We will adhere to the public health guidelines on physical distancing and per executive order, masks will be required.
The Garfield Re-2 Returning to Learning plan will be posted on the Garfield Re-2 website at www.garfieldre2.net by 8 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 for review prior to the meeting and will be sent out to staff and families via email and posted on social media as well.
In person participants must wear masks.

***NEW NEW NEW ***Employment Contracts and YOUR HR team
All certified staff and administrators should have received employment contracts electronically via TalentEd Records. Please look for an email from TalentEd to sign your contract.
We have heard some concerns about the new language that was added to teacher contracts.
This language was added as part of a regular review of the contract language and ensures that they are current. Although the language is new, the policies that are referenced are not new to the District. Every district is required to have policies around the cancellation of employment and Garfield Re-2 is no different. The new contract language creates more transparency around state statute and district policy.
If you should have questions regarding your employment contract, once received, please contact the Human Resources department via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your HR Team
Please HELP your Human Resources team out
To provide you the best service, we would like to ask for your support.
If you have a Payroll, Benefits or other Human Resources issue, please log in and take a peek at your Employee Portal information to see if you can find the issue there. On the employee portal you can find fun things like your W2s, Payroll stubs for comparison, Leaves and much, much more. The employee portal can be found under staff resources/employee portal on the garfield Re-2 website. (or click here https://www.aliosolutions.net/GARFIELDRE2/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fGARFIELDRE2%2fHome.aspx)
If you are unable to find your information via the employee portal, the fastest way to get your question answered is probably through the email@example.com and the firstname.lastname@example.org email addresses.
Payroll and HR will be holding "office hours" where they will be able to take staff phone calls and speak about your concerns directly. You can reach them at 970-665-7643.

Garfield County Food Resource List from Public Health
You may know families that need assistance. Below is information from the Garfield County Dept. of Public Health
During this period of high demand for food resources at food banks, we encourage all families to determine if they qualify for additional food resources in the community. The benefits they can receive monthly may help to stabilize the family’s food budget and offer more choices for what they eat.

WHO DO I CONTACT???? Human Resources Department changes
You may know that former Director of Human Resource Elizabeth Rinaldi left Garfield Re-2 at the end of June to pursue her career in California and be closer to her family.
HR Generalist Victoria (Tori) Harbottle has also left our team. Her last day was Tuesday, July 7. We are currently seeking a replacement. We wish both Elizabeth and Tori well as they pursue their next adventures.
We are fortunate to have Rewa Gaudern and Chalsea Cortez to provide HR support in the short-term.
Kassady Crawford and Erin Leary in conjunction with Assistant Superintendent Lisa Pierce are committed to supporting our staff with their Human Resources needs. Continue to send your questions to email@example.com. Several people monitor this account and they will support you as quickly as they can.
