IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD!

  • Please keep your child's lunch account up to date so they have enough money on their account to purchase their breakfast/lunch and, if you allow, snacks can be purchased too- OCS Nutrition makes it easy by having a way to make payments online! Did you know that meal charges left unpaid follow your child each year? When they get to middle and high school, students who owe money for meal charges may not be able to try out for extracurricular activities like sports and may not be permitted to walk the stage at graduation unless these charges are paid! If you think you may qualify for free or reduced meals, please complete the online application (http://www.lunchapplication.com/). Be sure to also send money for meals while you wait for the decision on approval!
  • LOST & FOUND OVERFLOWING WITH JACKETS! If your child is missing a jacket, chances are it can be found in our lost and found located in the cafeteria! Please have your child visit to find any lost items/jackets!
  • 3/8 - Tornado Drill
  • 3/8 - International Women’s Day - Students/Staff may wear clothes/create a poster/PPT slide to represent a woman who they admire/made the world a better place. Some grade levels may have other activities to honor women who have impacted the world!
  • 3/8 - 1st Grade Field Trip
  • 3/9 - OCS Spanish Spelling Bee @6 pm - CFIE
  • 3/10 - Staff Workday - no school for students
  • 3/12- Daylight Saving begins- Spring Forward one hour!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

April is Month of the Military Child, a time when we get to celebrate the 1.6 million military children who face challenges due to their loved one’s service. This year you can order a t-shirt to wear on Purple Up Day (April 21, 2023) to show your support. T-shirts can be purchased at Home | Purple Up! Onslow (lifesspecialtees.com). Please be sure to put your child’s first and last name in the order details and select the school your child attends in the delivery section. You will also need to keep a copy of your receipt. The t-shirt shop closes on March 15th and will NOT reopen for late orders. T-shirts will be delivered to your child’s school on April 17th. Please contact Danielle Merrell at danielle.merrell@onslow.k12.nc.us if you have any questions regarding the t-shirt orders.

When volunteering in this capacity, you will still need to report to the office first and bring an ID card to be checked into the school’s security system in order to account for everyone in the building in case of an emergency.

In order to be a volunteer at CFIE to work directly with students, including being a parent chaperone for field trips, the following process must be followed and approval obtained from District Office after a background check.
