WELCOME!

We are excited to welcome new staff members to our school this year! Joining us will be Ms. Jennifer Remo, part time learning support teacher and Miss Gina Tallarico, part time intervention teacher, 2nd grade teachers, Mrs. Dana Kramaroff and Miss Alyssa Marino, and Mrs. Beth Gould in 1st grade. Also, Miss Hannah Possoco will be filling in for Mrs. Monica Spinka in 1st grade. We also welcome paraprofessions, Mrs. Katie Scaduto, Ms. Morgan Hendricks, and Mrs. Danielle Phillips.

Congratulations to Mrs. Mallory Duelfer (Royer) 3rd grade teacher who was married this summer. Mrs. Duelfer taught 1st grade in previous years. Mrs. Elizabeth Ebling (DeAngelo) was also married in the spring. Congratulations are also extended to Mrs. Monica Spinka who welcomed a baby girl, Maven, on July 30th.

Attendance is an important factor in educational success.

Parents are required to do one of the three procedures written below. Please read them carefully:

• Parents/guardians may send an email to attendanceNHUF@boyertownasd.org from the email address of the parent/guardian on file with the district by 9:00 AM on any day that their child will be absent or tardy. This form of communication will not need a phone call or follow-up handwritten note.
• Parents/guardians may use the district website/app and fill out the absence note by 9:00 AM. This form of communication will not need a phone call or follow-up handwritten note.
• Parents/guardians may call the attendance line 610-754-9599 by 9:00 AM on any day that their child will be absent or tardy. However, absences must be followed up with a handwritten parent note or doctor's note within three days of the student's return to school. Failure to submit the appropriate note within three days will result in the absence being coded as unlawful, and this coding cannot be reversed even if a note is handed in after the three day window. Once a student has received three unlawful absences, a truancy elimination plan may be enacted. This plan could lead to a citation from the District Magistrate.

Educational trip forms must be completed and submitted for approval at least 2 days prior to the trip. Trip forms are available in the school office as well as on the BASD website.

Annual First Day Student Paperwork

Below is the link to our district website for all of the first day paperwork that was emailed to parents and guardians. Please be sure to return the Limerick form (all students) and the Technology Fee form (students in grades 2-12) promptly.

On Wednesday, Sept 6th there will be a DISTRICT WIDE K-5 ELD orientation for parents and students 4:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. All English as a Second Language parents and students are welcome to attend this “welcome” session being held at Boyertown Elementary School which will include student activities and parent information.

Mark your calendars! Picture day at NHUF Elementary will be Monday, September 25th.

Below you will find information regarding health room procedures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the health room nurses at 610-473-1770.

Physical & Dental Forms: All state mandated Kindergarten and 3rd grade private dental forms and all Kindergarten private physical exam forms are due now. If you have an upcoming appointment, please notify the health room of the appointment and we will make note of the date in your child’s record.

Medication Information: If your child requires prescription or over-the-counter medication while at school, a medication authorization form (found on the BASD website) must be completed by your physician. Once completed, please submit the paperwork, and then contact the health room to schedule an appointment to drop off your child’s medication. Prescription medications must be in an original pharmacy labeled container. Over-the-counter medication must be in original packaging. Please refer to the BASD website for more information.

Returning Paperwork: Please return any health room forms (Physical, Dental, Medication) via email if possible. You can scan and email the original document or email a photograph from your phone to either ewismer@boyertownasd.org or ekovach@boyertownasd.org
