I would like to thank our students, caregivers and whānau for a great year. Some of the highlights:

- a new basketball/netball system was installed
- our building work began throughout the school with the administration block being flooded
- we operated out of a damp Cube for half a year and then moved back into a lovely renovated administration area
- our roofing was replaced on Blocks 2 and 3
- the roof was re-pitched in the administration area
- new windows were installed in the hall with new curtains
- new windows in Rooms 1, 2 and 3
- we held our first Trophy Night in Term 3 after the re-opening of our hall
- Kotahitanga o Tuauru o Porirua was held
- our EPRO8 team 'It's Just Milk' made it to the finals and finished 4th overall
- more sporting events happened as Covid restrictions changed
- we managed Covid-19 well with a great team effort made by all
I would like to wish all of our Year 8 students all the very best as they move on to college.
Staffing for 2023
We have been steadily processing new enrolments as they come in. Due to the lower number of Year 6 students in the area, we will lose a classroom next year, so moving from 7 to 6 classes. This is always a hard thing to manage as we would love to keep all of our teaching team. However, at the end of this year, we will say farewell to some teachers. Miss Stephanie Gardiner is leaving us and moving to another school to work with a younger age group. We would like to thank her very much for her hard work and passion for working with our students here at Titahi Bay Intermediate. We would like to wish her all the very best in the next stage of her teaching career. We will also say farewell to Miss Allicia Veenhof who has been with us for the year.
We will have to make adjustments in classes, especially with the students who are in Rooms 1 and 3. If you have a special request regarding the placement of your child, then please contact me directly.
We welcome back Ms Amy Cole who has been on maternity leave this year, so we look forward to having her join the leadership team again.
Reports
Reports will be posted home on the last day of school, so please ensure that your postal address is up to date as the office will not be open to receive any returned mail.
Covid-19
You will be aware that Covid-19 cases are on the rise. We have several students and a few staff away with Covid-19. It is important that if your child has Covid-19 then they must isolate for 7 days. Please do not send them to school as we are trying to keep everyone safe, both students and staff before the Christmas celebrations.
If someone in your house is Covid-19 positive, household members need to test daily and if the household member is negative they can continue with life as normal.
Hangi
Thank you to our whānau and wider community who supported our end-of-year hangi. It was very delicious and enjoyed by those who consumed it.
End of Year Photo Book
Thanks to Mrs Emily Farrer and Mrs Cherie Walsh who have worked hard looking through photographs in order to compile the photobook. It is now all printed and ready to give out to students on the last day. It is always great to have such an item to archive and bring out when you want to look back on the memories that have been made here at Titahi Bay Intermediate.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, be safe and spend quality time with whānau. We will see our returning students next year.
