3rd - 5th

Today's class meeting is about Purpose. Start off by showing students the purpose poster in your classroom. Read it and talk about it purpose with them. Show them the short video clip above: titled View The Pass It On: Values.

Remind them that purpose propels you toward your future goals.

What are some of the goals of the people in the video?

How can you tell that they are attacking their goals with purpose?

How do you think purpose and grit are related?

Do we have to purpose for things that are not part of our future goal? Why or why not?

(You might have to direct students in this question. Facilitate a discussion that explains that we have to have purpose in tasks that aren't always part of the long term goal, but that dedication and purpose will serve them in reaching their long term goals.)
