I hope that everyone had a fantastic Spring Break! The rest of the year will move quickly as we get in to the last six weeks, STAAR testing and then Final Exams. There will be lots of events coming up in the next couple of months so look for dates of events so you don't miss them!

Dear Adams Junior High School Families,

Please join us as we organize the Adams Jr High PTA TONIGHT, Wednesday, March 20th, from 6:00-7:00 PM in the 9th grade commons at Seven Lakes High School. The meeting will be facilitated by a representative of Texas PTA who will lead us in the creation of the bylaws, budget, collection of memberships and election of officers. Membership dues will be decided in the bylaws process and should be similar to the amount paid at other secondary campuses. (Cash or check acceptable)

Also you will have an opportunity to meet a few of our staff members we have hired.

Looking forward to seeing you on March 20th.

ONE- ACT PERFORMANCES

The drama department will be performing two plays back to back on Thursday, March 21st in the school cafeteria. The eighth grade theatre students will present a short play, Saturday Matinee and the seventh graders will perform Camping Chaos.


Showtimes are from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Both performances are FREE so we hope to see you there!!

WCJH Boys Soccer Tryouts

Tryouts for boys’ soccer are right around the corner. Soccer tryouts for boys will be on April 1st with callbacks on April 2nd. 8th graders will try out in the mornings from 7:00- 8:30 while the 7th graders will tryout after school from 4:00- 5:30.


Online forms and physicals must be turned in along with parent signature from the "Soccer Tryout Info Packet" by Thursday, March 28th (forms can be found online or in the coaches’ office).


Late forms will not be accepted. We are excited to see all the talent come out this year!

Expectations


•Physicals must be completed on the official KISD form and turned in along with KISD on-line forms (go to https://katyisd.rankonesport.com/) by Thursday, March 28th to Coach Deforke (girls) in the coaches office.


•You must attend every day of your tryouts and BE ON TIME and ready to go!

Monday April 1

7th Grade 4:00-5:30PM

8th Grade 7:00-8:30AM


Tuesday April 2

7th Grade 7:00-8:30am

8th Grade 4:00- 5:00 pm


It is important for all athletes to be dropped off on time and picked up on time. All athletes are to be picked up at the FRONT of the school.


•Students will receive their letters letting them know if they made the team on April 2nd at the end of the school day for 7th graders and after tryouts from 8th graders.


•Players should not wear jewelry to tryouts and need to provide their own practice clothes. (PE uniforms or Athletics uniforms are fine.)


All tryouts are CLOSED. Parents must stay behind fenced areas during practice.


• Parents of players making the team will be asked to attend a parent meeting on Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:00pm in the commons at WCJH.

• All teams will practice Monday- Friday from 7:00- 8:30am, with the exception of game days. More information about practices will be given out at parent meeting.

IMPORTANT: 6TH GRADE PARENTS

The State of Texas requires specific immunizations for all 7th graders. The vaccines required, are the TDaP Booster, Meningococcal (1 dose AFTER age 10) and Varicella (2 doses). You will receive a notification, in the mail, if your student needs any vaccinations. Students must have these vaccinations (or Reasons of Conscience) before the start of 7th grade.

Lost and Found

Click the red link below for clothing lost and found items, these items only are in the front office by the PTA desk. All lunch boxes, water bottles, shoes, school supplies, and other clothing items will be stored in the cafeteria. Students can check upfront with Ms. Jen for lost and found electronics.

Clothing items will be photographed and displayed on the lost and found link on a 2 week cycle. Clothing items can be claimed in the front office by the PTA desk.


All ITEMS are DONATED EVERY 2 weeks.

A public meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 1:00PM in the Katy Independent School District Education Support Complex, Room 1200 located at 6301 South Stadium Lane, Katy, Texas regarding the ESEA Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV, IDEA B Special Education, High School Accelerated Instruction and Carl D. Perkins CTE programs as implemented in the 2018-2019 school year and as proposed for 2019-2020 school year. The staff and the public are invited to comment on these programs. A written statement for the record must accompany all comments made. In addition, parent and teacher surveys have been created to gather input on these programs.
