FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello Panthers!
What a beautiful day to end our week! I’m so happy to see the sun and step outside into warmer weather than what the week started. This afternoon we were able to get out as a school to celebrate the results of our April Inclusiveness Challenge. As part of Autism Awareness month, classrooms were tasked with tracking how they can be inclusive of everyone; sharing, kind words, encouraging a friend, and so forth. Anytime they were caught by a staff member, they received points towards being able to pie me in the face! Needless to say, this afternoon I had a lot of pies sent in my direction! It was some silly fun to encourage and acknowledge how we want to treat one another.
Speaking of acknowledgment, next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! We have such a hard working, caring, and dedicated staff. Having been in the building for nearly a year now, I can honestly say how impressed I am by the building team. This is a group that holds high academic standards while keeping students accountable and demonstrating care and compassion for all. While there are a lot of good schools, the staff is what makes such a difference each and every day. They are what makes Paris Ridge a truly great school to be at! Please consider writing them a note next week via our Cal Digital Appreciation Cards.
Lastly, I want to share that we were recently acknowledged by the Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) program. In our first year of training, our team has implemented a number of impactful strategies to connect with students at an even deeper level and allow students to have increased capacity and ownership in being leaders across the building. Due to the incorporation of CKH and the impact it has continued to have in our building, they have nominated us as a “Rising Star” school. This is a school in its first year of implementation of CKH. Our hopes would be to continue this trend to try earning a CKH National Showcase school in future years. At any rate, this is another huge accomplishment by the team!
Enjoy the sunny weather!

Hello Paris Ridge Families!
The staff at Paris Ridge are planning on surprising students with a secret celebration on Friday May 26th as our end of month celebration for all students. We need your help! Please consider signing up to donate a bag of individually wrapped candy to help us out with this event. Donations can be sent into school with your child and given to your child's classroom teacher or to the office. Please send in items no later than Friday May 19th so we can take count and prep for the event. Thank you so much! And remember, shhhh....it is a secret! :)
FROM THE NURSE
The end of the school year is quickly approaching! Caledonia Community Schools are unable to keep medication over the summer, this includes inhalers, Epi-pens, other emergency medications and all Over the Counter (OTC) medication.
If your child has medication at school, please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication(s) on/before the last day of the school (June 2nd). If you are unable to pick the medication up prior to school ending and need to make special arrangements to do so, please call the school office at 616-891-7033 to make those arrangements. The school cannot allow your child to bring the medication home (unless noted on consent form as self-carry) or allow anyone other than a parent/guardian to pick it up.
Many of these medications are expensive and the school is required to dispose of any medication that is not picked up, so please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication as soon as possible. All medications will be disposed of on Friday, June 9th.
Thank you!!!
Nurse Rachel
