ALL REGISTRATION IS ONLINE.
Our new online registration system means that parents can register their students at their convenience on any device with internet access. Register your student and upload all needed documents from the comfort of your own home. No appointments or trips to the school will be necessary to complete most registrations!
Required Student Documents
It is the parent/guardians responsibility to provide the required documentation upon enrollment. During the Gateway Registration process you were asked to upload the following required documents:
- Birth Certificate (student)
- Parent/Guardian Identification
- Hearing, Dental, Vision and Nutrition Screening Certificate (Georgia Form 3300)
- Certificate of Immunization (Georgia Form 3231)

If you have not uploaded your documents, please login and do so as soon as possible. You can use your smart phone or tablet to capture images of your documents using the feature called Mobile Capture. The system will walk you through the steps to upload these documents. Once you complete the process, you will be provided with a pdf file of your forms.
Please do not delay this final process. The office is closed for the summer and will reopen on July 19th.
We can only approve your registration once all the documents have been received. If you fail to upload the required documentation, your child cannot start school on August 1, 2019.

IB MISSION
The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
GRADES K-5TH: IB PRIMARY YEARS PROGRAMME (PYP)
PYP at Sawyer Road Elementary educates the whole child by providing a comprehensive, inquiry based approach to teaching and learning. While incorporating local, state, and national curriculum requirements as well as the arts and world language, the PYP reaches beyond minimum standards to provide a rich, intensive education. All of the students at Sawyer Road Elementary receive IB PYP instruction.
The IB learner profile represents 10 attributes valued by IB World Schools.
We believe these attributes, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities.
Inquirers: Students develop their natural curiosity. We nurture our curiosity, developing skills for inquiry and research. We know how to learn independently and with others. We learn with enthusiasm and sustain our love of learning throughout life.
Knowledgeable: Students explore concepts, ideas and issues that have both a local and global significance.
Thinkers: Students think critically to engage themselves in figuring out complex problems.
Communicators: Students express themselves and information through a variety of modes of communication. We collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.
Principled: Students act honestly and with a strong sense of fairness, justice, and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups, and communities. We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences.
Open-minded: Students appreciate their own cultures and personal histories and are open to the perspectives, values and traditions of other individuals and communities.
Caring: Students show respect and compassion towards the needs of others.
Risk-takers: Students approach unfamiliar situations with courage, as well as defend their beliefs.
Balanced: Students understand the importance of intellectual, physical and emotional balance to achieve personal well-being.
Reflective: Students give consideration to their own learning and experience. We work to understand our strengths and weaknesses in order to support our learning and personal development.
Sawyer Road Pledge
We will try our best to be reflective, inquirers, communicators, caring, principled, risk-takers, thinkers, knowledgeable, well-balanced, and open-minded as we learn to work with our fellow Starfish. We will accept our Sawyer Road challenge to reach for the stars!
Sawyer Road Staff
Sawyer Road Elementary is a Title 1 School.
Title 1, Part A is a federally funded program under the Every Student Succeeds ACT (ESSA). The purpose of Title 1 under the ESSA is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. While ESSA has many requirements, there is a strong focus throughout the law on parent and family engagement notification and involvement, particularly as it relates to:
- Ensuring that high-quality academic assessments, accountability systems, teacher preparation and training, curriculum, and instructional materials are aligned with challenging State academic standards so that students, teachers, parents, and administrators can measure progress against common expectations for student academic achievement.
- Affording parents substantial and meaningful opportunities to participate in the education of their children.
Parent Involvement Is Important
Parental involvement is a crucial factor of Title 1 legislation. Parental involvement means the participation of parents in regular, two-way, and meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities, including and ensuring that:
- Parents play an integral role in assisting their child's learning.
- Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child's education at school.
- Parents are full partners in their child's education and are included, when appropriate, in decision making to assist in the education of their child.
