School News Update

3 September 2021

Dear Parents/Caregivers

We hope that our distance learning programme is continuing to keep your child engaged in their learning, and that they are taking the daily opportunity to ‘meet’ with their teacher and friends.

Random Acts of Kindness

The senior leadership team has thoroughly enjoyed hosting your child’s daily class online meeting this week. Connecting with our students (and pets) definitely improved our wellbeing. We hope your child surprised you with a random act of kindness too.

Level 3 Guidelines

Although we are currently in Alert Level 4, we thought it may be helpful to remind you of Alert Level 3 guidelines. Schools do not fully reopen until we are in Alert Level 2. Schools are essentially closed at Level 3 with the exception for those few children whose parents and carers must work away from home, and there is no appropriate caregiver available. In Level 3, you legally must stay within your household bubble unless for essential personal movement or for essential work. When we are advised of our move to Level 3 we will update you further.

2022 Enrolments

Thankfully we made the decision earlier this year to move to online enrolment applications. We closed our out of zone enrolments on Wednesday and have requested all in zone applications so that we can plan 2022 classes. Thank you to all of the families with Year 6 children who have completed their online enrolment applications. Confirmation of a place at FCI will be emailed to families later next week.

Stay safe.
