5 Themes of Meography
Location:
There are two types of location, Absolute and Relative. Absolute location is a specific location where Relative location is about approximate to where you live.
Absolute location: 45.6092° N, 94.4517° W
Relative Location: I live in the state of Minnesota in Avon, it's a small little town with few people but our community is very close. There's quite a few trees and we all have little to somewhat big neighborhoods.
Place:
Place involves two characteristics, human and physical. Human Characteristics are what have been put in place there by humans, and Physical are anything that is naturally there.
The five physical features of my home are, all the trees that surround it, grass, the field behind it, the rocks in our gardens and dirt.
The five human features of my home include, our deck/patio, the dog pen, our garden, my mom's flower bed and the rabbit hutch.
Human Environmental Interaction:
I adapt to Minnesota's environment by wearing warmer clothes in the fall and winter, but in the summer I dress in cooler clothes to adapt to the weather change.
My family and I help to modify the environment by planting our gardens every year, my mom replants her flower garden where my dad plants a vegetable garden.
I depend on my environment by counting on the trees to give us fresh oxygen and paper for school, not only trees but also animals as well. Such as deer for meat over the cold winter.
Movement:
I typically get around by car, so that's my main form of transportation.
I have clothes from China, such as shoes, shirts etc. In my house I have silverware made in
France and a few house hold items hand-carved in Germany!
My most common form of communication is speaking face-to-face to other people. I'm not a big "texter" but I sometimes text my friends but not my family.
Region:
One unifying Physical feature that Minnesota has is our many Pine trees, however a Human feature that we have is our humungous statue of Paul Bunyun.
