Roosevelt Weekly Parent Info
Hello to all Roosevelt families! A few reminders for the week:
• Late Start: The first late start of the year is on Tuesday, September 18. If you plan to send your child to school at his/her normal time, please submit this form. If you plan to send them when school begins, our day starts at 9:55 (tardy bell is 10:05). We have an all-school celebration each late start. Please have your child wear RED or WHITE or ROOSEVELT GEAR on this day!
• Roosevelt Walk-A-Thon: Information about this will be coming home tomorrow. All students are being asked to try and collect $75 in pledges from family and friends. We will again have an online donation option, and it appears to be much, much easier than last year. The PTO thanks you for your support. They are looking for a few more volunteers for the walk, which will be held October 5. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Kelsey Bellig at email@example.com.
• Book Fair: The Roosevelt Book Fair is coming soon. It will be held during Open House on Thursday, September 27. Beth Weller is in need of volunteers to help. If you are willing to help, please contact her at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you so much--we couldn't do this without you!!!
• Hy-Vee receipts, Box Tops for Education, Kwik Trip Milk Caps: The Roosevelt PTO collects these. Please have your child turn these in to the Roosevelt Office every once in awhile. Hy-Vee receipts that are dated from September through May will be accepted.
Thanks for an amazing start to the school year!
Lunch with the Principal
Congrats to new Kindergartener, Greta, for winning Lunch with the Principal. She read over the summer, filled out her bookmark, and her name was drawn at our opening celebration. She invited her brother and a friend. Fill out those bookmarks and bring them back to school, and you too could win some fun prizes!
New Playground Supervisors
Welcome to Mr. Chris and Mr. Jake, Roosevelt's new playground supervisors. Mr. Chris is researching and finding some new games and activities for the Roosevelt playground. Stay tuned!
Mrs. Busch and Lucy read her birthday book to her class. It was a book all about adoption, and Lucy's adoption story. It will also be the birthday book that she donates to the Roosevelt library in celebration of her birthday. Super cool, Lucy! Thanks for sharing.
