Penngrove Press
April 29, 2022
Dear Penngrove Families,
Woah, woah, woah! We just need time to slow down for a quick minute! There are only 29 school days left this year. Can you believe that?! This time of year is so exciting to watch our students making huge academic leaps as well as overcoming obstacles they've been working through all year. Your little panthers are growing up!
Please take a moment to read the note below from the Class of 2023! We appreciate you staying so connected and engaged. See you around campus!
Warmly,
Mrs. Fadeji
P.S. Thank you Mr. Keith for putting up our playground bricks!
CLASS of 2023!
Hello Penngrove community! We wanted to take a moment to introduce the Class of 2023 to you. This group of 64 fifth grade students are excited to start fundraising for their outdoor education camp and 6th grade activities. It is a legacy that all Penngrove Panthers will embark on and we rely on our entire school community to help make the magic happen.
We fundraise as a group to provide the opportunity for every student to attend camp. So our fundraising number is a big one!
During the rest of the calendar year we will be providing opportunities for families to support fundraising efforts. Upcoming events include a paint night on Thursday (there are still spots left!) and pasta dinner before Open House (keep reading below for more details). There is never any pressure to participate…even just a wave to the kiddos as they work on their marketing skills with signs in the parking lot or communication skills while volunteering will be awesome!
As a reminder, our fundraising is separate from the PTA Jog-a-thon fundraiser that takes place in September.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at pennoutdoored@gmail.com.
Thank you for cheering on the Class of 2023 and continuing the legacy of Panthers supporting Panthers!

🌻Garden Update w/ Ms. Ortiz🌻
I hope you all are taking some time to enjoy this beautiful green Spring we are having. Your kids are hard at work in the garden and a lot is happening! We are setting out starts, doing scientific observation work with bean starts, having beautiful tastings right from the garden and so much more.
First, Second, and Third-grade families: be on the lookout for an amazing bean observation drawing coming home! Your students did a detailed and beautiful job.
Please come and join us over the summer for three garden work days!! We will be doing a major overhaul on Monday, June 20th, Saturday, June 25th, and Wednesday, July 13th, from 10-3 and need your help. Come for part of the time or all day and lend a hand. This opportunity to upgrade our teaching garden is made possible by the Penngrove PTA and our community partners Grab N’ Grow and Harmony Farm supply. We will be creating a TK/K teaching garden and upgrading infrastructure for the whole student body. Bring your power tools and come be a part of this awesome opportunity to make our teaching garden better than ever.
Please follow the garden on Instagram @pennpanthersgarden and check out our Flower Power Fundraiser going through May 15th as well as our ongoing year-round fundraiser at Renee’s seeds. See flyers below. As always contact me at aortiz@petk12.org if you have any questions, ideas, or want to volunteer. I always welcome community involvement!
You can also contribute to the Garden Program by purchasing bulbs at http:// PenngroveGardenProgram.fpfundraising.com we will receive 50% of your purchase. This one goes until May15. I will be signing us up for Fall and Winter as well. Check out the website you will want to buy for yourself and your friends!
Looking for more ways to get involved? Come and volunteer! Reach out to me at aortiz@petk12.org for more details. You can volunteer with your kids class, at lunch time to allow kids to be in the garden during break times, or if you just want to get your hands dirty in the garden I will put you to work! Thank you so much to our parent volunteers!
