Las Positas Updates
10/15/21 Volume 1 (11)
Happy Friday, Las Positas Lions~
Our students are learning so much everyday. Being in person means students are not only improving their academic skills in ELA, math, science, and social studies, but also honing their hand eye coordination, social skills of building relationships, and learning what is appropriate and not.
You are a crucial part of their learning experience. Please ask your children what they learned and what was their favorite experience and why. Continue to:
- Visit places that spark inquiry like a museum, park or nature preserve.
- Explore the areas of your child's interest by visiting the library to borrow books.
- Develop an understanding of the Internet. Work with your son or daughter when the Internet is being used and try to instill the understanding that some internet sites are not reputable.
- Model being an inquirer. Ask questions and wonder!
- Praise your child for asking a question
- Have your child jot down their wonders in a journal. Spend time researching these wonders

Red Ribbon Week: "Drug Free Looks Like Me" 10/25 ~ 10/29
In addition, on Wed 10/27, students may respond to the theme, "DRUG FREE LOOKS LIKE ME" by writing a message or creating a drawing on the butcher paper in front of the school. (Very similar to Dot Day since it was a big success.)
Pick Up Time
Families, thank you for making sure your children are picked up on time. We really appreciate it. As a reminder, school is out at 2:40 and every Wednesdays are Early Releases at 1:20PM.
We do ask that you don't arrive too early. We have some families who arrive at the time of TK and Early K dismissal which is at 1:30.
For regular 2:40 dismissal, please do not come earlier than 2 PM.
