From Social Studies
Students in Modern World History classes recently completed a unit comparing the Crusades to the modern conflict over Israel. Students reviewed multiple forms of media identifying bias and perspective. Students began to formulate their own opinions regarding the conflict in Israel through an in-class debate. As a culminating event, students acted as journalists, interviewing Salwa bin Ghali from Jenin, West Bank. This interview followed a conversation with Elihay Skital from Ashkelon, Israel. Students engaged in workplace learning by acting as journalists to prepare culturally sensitive, yet thought provoking, questions to pose to both guest speakers. Students were impressed with the passion and completely different perspectives from both speakers.

Hi, We are three seniors attending Scituate High School, looking to fundraise for Stroke victims. We have chosen the Stroke Support Association to empower stroke survivors and their families with resources to recover, reclaim, and rebuild their lives. We have competed in Medical Innovations for the past two years designing a prototype to help stroke victims regain their hand function, now we have ventured on to Community Awareness, spreading information and awareness to and about stroke victims so their stories can be heard. Please help us in providing these victims with a little extra help! Every dollar counts! You can donate through the link attached. If you are unable to donate, please help us share the message.

Calling all 11th and 12th grade Spartan students and families!
RIDE has rolled out a college and career readiness texting service to make planning for your future as stress-free as possible. RhodyReady is a chatbot designed to increase access to information for high school students needing support with their college or career journeys. RhodyReady is available 24/7 for students to ask questions and receive personalized responses based on the bots capabilities. Students will also receive periodic text messages regarding important deadlines (such as FAFSA or scholarships) and internship opportunities.
To get started, text “Hi Rhody Ready” to 401-567-2822 (standard message and data rates may apply). Once signed up, seniors may check out scholarship opportunities by texting “#scholarshipbot”
