News from Mrs. Mankin
Dear Bulldog Families,
I hope that you had a relaxing fall break and that your child’s transition back to school was smooth. As we jump back into learning with the start of the second 9-week period, I encourage you to talk to your son or daughter about learning. The information you received at conference should help you with this conversation. It is important to celebrate growth and set new goals for reading, math, writing…and social-emotional learning. The 2nd Step Home Links that Mrs. Leiner sends weekly should help with social emotional learning goals. Something that would be helpful to share with your child is how you set goals to help you chunk your own personal learning.
We are gearing up for our STEAM Family Night on November 7th from 6:30-7:30p.m. STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, art, and math. New Britton staff will be leading a variety of STEAM-related activities – everything from coding, math games and engineering challenges to creating DNA models. We will also have special guests leading us in some STEAM work, the Fishers High School Robotics Team and a parent who does forensic work for the Carmel Police Department. We are so excited to host this family night; be sure to mark your calendars.
Have a wonderful fall weekend! As always, thank you for partnering with us in education.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lori Mankin
Principal
