Old Math Expressions Materials
From IRC:
Math Expressions 2013 materials will be collected by IRC at a later date this fall. Please do not send back Math Expressions materials as IRC is currently committed to getting the materials you need out to your buildings and need all of their attention and warehouse space to committing to customer service! We will plan to physically come out to your buildings for this pick up once we get the year going.
We will let you know when we will be coming to your building.

To Do: Safe Routes to School Data Collection
Safe Routes to School
Safe Routes to School provides data for the school district and city to understand the travel patterns of certain neighborhoods to make informed decisions on the city's infrastructure, engineering, and education.
On August 27 and August 29, teachers will ask students how they got to school in the morning and record this on a data sheet that will be provided by Andy Pelsma.
FYI: Tech News and Tech Support Schedule
Zach Wustefeld - Monday Afternoon
Matt Fish - 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month in the morning
When needing tech support, calling HELP (x4357) or entering a work order/work order email are options for support. All techs will support all buildings/facilities for work orders so you will occasionally see technicians other than your assigned tech.
Technology Work Orders - two options for requesting tech help.
Tech work orders through SharePoint page or email ITWorkorder@usd497.org. When using the email option be sure to include:
- Requested by (or on behalf of . . . . .XXXX)
- Building name
- Room number
- Device tag number (if device issue)
- DETAILS - the more the better.
SEESAW
All previous classes in Seesaw will be archived on Friday, August 23rd. If teachers need to access to previous class, they may do so. Please contact Sherri Fowler and she will provide directions.
ZOOM - the district has reached its recorded Zoom meeting storage capacity. Zoom recordings will be deleted Aug 28, 2019. Staff who have recordings which need to be retained should contact John Gottstein (jgottste@usd497.org) proving the date(s) and time(s) of the meeting recording(s) to retain no later than Aug 27, 2019.
Chrome - The web browser Chrome has been added as a download through (Mosyle) Manager. Open Manager, search Chrome, click install.

FYI: Tutors Needed!
FYI Kansas Reading Roadmap:
Kansas Reading Roadmap returns this fall to three elementary schools in Lawrence. This research-based, engaging program reading intervention program includes individualized, small-group instruction; a structured read-aloud session that focuses on vocabulary and comprehension; and a structured physical activity component; and a healthy snack. We are looking for enthusiastic, dependable tutors to coach our K-3rd grade striving readers using our curriculum. (Time: immediately after school; varies by location. Rate $21/hour). The KRR Reading Coach position is posted on the usd497 website.

School Website Minimum Expectations
The district expects all certified teachers to have an "About Teacher" welcome page on their school's website with basic contact information. The About Teacher page is an easy-to-complete template. Go to the Deerfield Website. Sign in with your district username and password. Click on Site Manager. You will see only those sections assigned to you on the left side of the screen. Here's how to complete the page.
For your information, below are the district’s minimum expectations for staff pages:
- “About Me” tab includes a prefix (Dr., Miss, Mr., Mrs., Ms. and/or preferred pronoun(s))
- Teacher’s name
- Brief professional biography
- Photo (photos should be a standard head shot, such as a school yearbook photo).
This space should be left blank if a teacher prefers not to display a photo of his/her/their likeness.
- “Details” tab includes
- school email address
- school main phone number (and/or teacher extension)
- (optional) degrees and certifications.
