Parkview's TSA Chapter, 8 Time State Champions
We are proud to announce that Parkview TSA placed first overall as the Outstanding Chapter at this year's GA TSA State Leadership Conference in Athens, Georgia! Over 40 members travelled to UGA to compete in programs, competitions, and events that apply their knowledge and skills in various technology-related fields. Their hard work and dedication have paid off, and we could not be more thrilled with their success. This year's triumph makes Parkview TSA eight-time state champions (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023)!
As a chapter this year, we placed first overall with many events placing in the top 10. Congratulations to all Parkview TSA State participants and their placements in the following events:

Nick Gast Named Athletic Director of the Year
The Georgia Athletic Directors Association’s annual conference was held last weekend in Savannah and our own Nick Gast was honored. Coach Gast was named the Region 4-AAAAAAA Athletic Director of the Year! Gast has worked at Parkview for the past 10 years, he started out as our boys basketball coach and moved to into the Athletic Director position 6 years ago. Prior to being at Parkview he coached basketball at Valdosta State for 8 years. This year Nick Gast is the Assistant Principal over 12th grade as well as the schools Athletic Director. Congratulations on being honored!
2023 Student Media Festival
"The GCPS Student Media Festival celebrates the talents and visions of student digital media producers. The festival is coordinated by the GCPS Broadcast Department/GCPS TV and supported by media specialists, teachers, administrators, industry professionals, local businesses, and community members." (gcpsk12.org)
This year two of Parkview's submissions were selected as Festival Favorites at the Gwinnett Student Media Festival. Angel Andrade won for his piece "Portals" and Niyah Garner, Amy Ho, Kaylie Mercer, and Anh McMullin won for their piece, "You are not alone."

PTSA Awards Teacher Grants
Twice a year the PTSA awards classroom grants to teachers. Teachers are asked to apply and write an essay describing their need and use of the funding. This semester the grants were awarded to Treva Bibbs-Bugg a Speech and Language Pathologist, and Stephanie Diamond a Language Arts teacher. Congratulations to you both and thank you for all you do for the students at Parkview!

Parkview Orchestra Makes Some Noise in The Big Easy
Parkview Orchestra traveled to New Orleans last week (April 23-26) to take in the sites and compete against other schools from around the country. After 4 amazing days in the city and 15 other groups of musical competition, Parkview took home:
- 1st PLACE in our division
- Outstanding Overall Score
- Adjudicator Choice Award
- 2 Outstanding Soloist Awards (William Hague and William Calle)
- 1st PLACE OVERALL (of all 15 groups)

Parkview Track and Field Compete at the Varsity County Finals
The Varsity Panthers competed in the Gwinnett County Championships over the weekend (March 25 & March 27). The athletes put in incredible work and there were 40 PR's (personal records) across the team! Congratulations on a great weekend!

Parkview Hosts Gwinnett County JV Track and Field County Finals
On Thursday, March 30, Parkview hosted teams from around the county for the JV Gwinnett County Finals. At the final meet for JV competitors this season, the athletes showed off their amazing talent and growth! Many of the athletes took home metals and PR'd. Parkview Golf Takes Second
Congratulations to all members of Boys' Golf team on their second place finish this weekend (March 25) in our golf tournament, The Parkview Invitational Golf Tournament at The Country Club of Gwinnett. The team was lead in scoring by Adam Forrester who shot a 78, Frankie Remmes with a 81, Samuel Clark posted 84 and Bryson Hannah carded a 87.

The College & Career Center and Worked Based learning have collaborated to bring you Panther X Talks. We will be inviting professionals to share their experience in their profession and their educational journey that led them there.

Ms. Jordan is a Registered Nurse and the Owner and Instructor at Health Connect Career Center.
Health Connect is a state-approved Certified Nurse Assistant(CNA) training school where individuals are trained and certified for entry level jobs as CNA's.
Ms. Jordan is a certified American Heart Association CPR instructor where she dedicates herself to deliver quality industry education to aspiring healthcare professionals.
She is also Co-Owner of Profashional Nurse, a nursing accessory product company.

Did You Know?
The Attendance Office is where you can pick up your ADAP certificate and your Certificate of Enrollment after you order them on MyPaymentsPlus.
Course Registration for 2023/2024
Students are able to see their course requests for the 2023/24 school year through the Student Vue App. If a student/parent requested changes to classes on the paper registration sheet, they can check the StudentVue App periodically over the next two to three weeks to see that the change has been made. The Curriculum Office will be working on these requests over the next couple of weeks.
Please Be On Time Daily
- As a reminder, school begins at 7:15am. We are aware that traffic is heavy. Please leave home early enough to arrive to school and be in 1st period on time. Thank you for helping us have your student to school on time!
- If a student arrives to school after 7:30am, the student MUST check-in through the Attendance Office. If a student needs to leave school for any reason after arriving to school, the student MUST check-out through the Attendance Office. The Attendance Office is located inside the main building lobby.
Don't Forget Your Chromebook
Please remember to bring your FULLY CHARGED Chromebook Daily! It is important to have these everyday for class use.
Please Don't...
- Bring outside food or have it delivered to anywhere on the school grounds, but please do finish any outside food before you arrive on campus and enter the school.
- Have flowers/balloons/gifts delivered to the school, but please enjoy your celebration at home.
- Expect to check your student out after 1:30, but please do have your student bring a note first thing in the morning so they can get a pass to check-out before 1:30.
Please remember that school appropriate clothes are always required on campus.

The Parkview PTSA is proud to host this year's Baccalaureate.
Baccalaureate is an annual event, leading up to the week of graduation. All graduating seniors are invited for a one hour, non-secular ceremony celebrating their accomplishment. There will be guest speakers to inspire, motivate and encourage you as you take steps towards graduation.
It's Time to Write Senior Letters
It is time to start writing your letters to your favorite graduates! There is a long standing tradition at PHS, where friends and family members of our seniors write letters that they will receive at their senior breakfast.

We are accepting nominations for Officers for the 2023-2024 School Year. The officer positions open for 2023-2025 term are Vice President and Secretary. If you are interested in being an officer or committee chair for next school year, email PKVWPTSA@gmail.com. PTSA meetings are Tuesday nights, at least one week a month. Officer Elections will be held May 9, 2023 @ 7 pm.
