Swansboro Middle School
2023-2024
Welcome to Swansboro Middle School, home of the Pirates!
It is an honor to be selected as the new principal of Swansboro Middle School. Being a middle school student these days is not an easy feat, but I am confident that if we work together, our students will thrive.
To share a little about my educational background, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2002. After teaching middle grades for four years, I decided to go back to college to pursue my dream of becoming a principal. I graduated from Western Carolina in 2008 with a Graduate degree in School Administration. I have served as an assistant principal for eight years, serving at Sycamore Lane Middle, New Bridge Middle and Dixon Elementary. For the last seven years, I have served as the principal of Swansboro Elementary. I am excited about returning to my middle school roots and am looking forward to working together with this wonderful community to do amazing things for our students. Go Pirates!

6th Grade Orientation
Please drop 6th grade students off at the auditorium between 1:00-1:20pm. The student sessions will begin promptly at 1:30pm. There will be a parent session in the auditorium from 3:00-3:30 pm.

Sports Safety Meeting for Parents and Athletes
There will be two meetings before the start of the school year. This meeting is required to be completed once per school year BEFORE a student athlete may try out for a sport. If you attended the meeting in May, you have already completed this requirement for the 23-24 school year. If you have not yet attended the meeting and are planning on trying out for a sport this year, please plan on attending either:
- Monday, August 14th at 5pm in the Main Gym (football tryouts begin at 6pm)
- Thursday, August 24th immediately following Open House in the Main Gym
You must attend one of these meetings to try out for football, softball, or cheerleading. Other meetings will be held later in the school year for other sports. If you have any questions, please email Coach Trees at Sean.trees@onslow.k12.nc.us.
