MCCHS FRIDAY FOCUS
58th Edition: January 12, 2018
Pilgrims on the Way of Truth
Whether the Weather is Warm...
This week also marked a new tradition for our school - we were able to send a group of students to the Illinois High School Theatre Festival in Bloomington/Normal! This annual event is the largest and oldest non-competitive high school theatre-festival in the world, with over 4,000 participants, 25 high school productions, and over 150 workshops. Easily the highlight of the entire weekend is the All-State Production, featuring some of the state's best student actors, orchestral musicians, dancers, singers, and "techies. Our school was not able to participate in the past due to the conflict with semester exams, so this is just another wonderful benefit of our schedule change! We look forward to all the new skills our students will be learning at this event, as we are continually expanding our wonderful Fine Arts Program here at Marian Central!
We hope everyone enjoys the three-day weekend! Also, please consider donating books to our Book Drive (next week) and gather up any gently used winter coats for our Coat Drive the following week! If one of your resolutions was to clean out closets or de-clutter your shelves, these two drives not only help you in those efforts but you will also know that you are making a huge difference in the lives of others with your donations!

CSW Winter Coat Drive: Jan. 31st - Feb. 1st
Doing any DRESS SHOPPING?
WINTER SEMI-FORMAL (Jan. 27th) Our young ladies typically wear cocktail length dresses. PLEASE help your daughter select a length that is appropriate! It's very important that the hemline is no higher than mid-thigh. Young men wear suit/tie - but often forego the suit-coat.
PROM -FORMAL (April 27th - Juniors and Seniors only) Gowns and Tuxedos are the typical attire for this event. Again, with dresses, since there are so many selections out there - it is important that our school's conservative attire is respected.
Society (and the media) may be tempting our young men and women to dress and behave far beyond their age - but we have to do our best to protect the age they actually are. Thank you for always partnering with us in this effort to prepare them for adulthood, while still honoring and protecting their age.
We hope you find this Semi/Formal Dress Guideline helpful!
THIS JUST IN! SPECIAL PRICING FOR ALL MARIAN CENTRAL STUDENTS!
Tickets for this event are $22 each - but because we feel SO STRONGLY in the importance of Chris's message of taking the beauty and genius of the gospel and applying it to one's every day life, Marian Central is underwriting a portion of the ticket price for ALL Marian students! The price for any Marian Central student is now only $10.00! Tickets are available for purchase in the Guidance Office - so come get yours today and join us on January 24th for this life-changing event in Landers Pavilion!
