We love our Cool Cats!
We had a great time this week celebrating our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Cline and our Paraprofessional of the Year, Mrs. Forte. We appreciate them so much for their dedication to the Cool Cats! Our technology night this past week was a great success as well. I hope you learned a few things from your Cool Cat! Kindergarten students are learning about how communities work and learning about jobs people do and how technology has changed the way we work and the types of goods and services provided. First grade students are identifying differences between day and night by discussing objects that they might see in the sky and activities they would do. Second grade students are working on identifying the coins by their attributes and value. Third grade students are wrapping up their data analysis unit and writing both narrative and expository essays. Fourth graders are classifying Earth's renewable and nonrenewable resources. Fourth grade took their writing checkpoint this week and our students had the highest passing rate in the district. Great job 4th grade! We are excited to have author of Lumi, Sandy Parker, at Hartman on Friday. We have ordered over $2,000 in new library books, courtesy of our students who participated in the Read-a-thon! Great week for the Cool Cats!
Thanks,
Shawna Ballast
