No UnHomework this week

Due to the short week, we will not be sending UnHomework home. UnHomework will resume the Tuesday after Fall Break.

Reading Logs Due 10/25

Please take some time over Fall Break to make sure your child's reading log is filled out and signed. These will be collected the Tuesday we return from Fall Break. Thank you for your dedication to reading to your child at home!

Field Trip!

Our field trip is coming up! Friendly reminder that all forms should have been returned by now. If for any reason you have a form at home, please send it to school tomorrow. We don't want your child to miss out on the fun! More information about the trip will be coming home next Monday. Additionally, a chaperone email will be sent out early next week, too. It's not too late to chaperone! Please email your teacher if you are interested in helping us out!

Thank you to all who attended my first round of conferences last week! Round 2 will be TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 18th. Please look back in your email for your conference reminder. There is no need to respond if you are still attending. Please reply if your schedule has changed and you are no longer able to make it.

Student Pin Numbers- It's here!

Friendly reminder that when we return from Fall Break your child should be able to enter their 9 digit ID/ PIN number to go through the breakfast and lunch line. Please be practicing this memorization and way to enter the number on the keypad at home. This number will follow your child through 12th grade, so it is important they learn it whether they eat in the cafeteria or not.

Book Fair Ends Wednesday

Our Book Fair has been a big success and lots of fun for the kids! Your child has until Wednesday to shop. Please send your child to school with their money and wish-list and I will allow them to visit the Book Fair. Thanks!

Red Ribbon Week (2nd Grade PJ Day Change)

Next week is Red Ribbon Week! Please allow your child to dress for the day as follows:

Monday- (no school)

Tuesday- "I'm RED-y to live a drug free life"- wear red

Wednesday- "Team up against drugs"- wear your favorite sports team attire

Thursday- "Hats off to being drug free"- wear a hat HOWEVER, second grade has received special permission to wear their PJs to school on Thursday, given that PJ day falls on our field trip day.

Friday- Field Trip! Please wear tennis shoes, and your second grade shirt (coming home soon!) OR a Frontier shirt (orange, if you have it!)

Can you help us?

Our class is in need of erasers. We are needing both pencil top erasers and bigger pink erasers. If you are able to donate some to our class, we would so appreciate it!

Fall Weather

We all know that weather in Oklahoma can be quite unpredictable and change often. We ask that you please pay special attention to the dropping temperatures and send your child to school with a coat. Students will play, and at times learn, outdoors, and we want them to be as comfortable as possible.

Lost & Found

As the weather turns cooler, our school lost and found box grows. If your child is missing something, please have them check the lost and found bin in the front lobby across from the gym. Also, please make sure coats, sweaters, and lunch boxes have your child's name on them so they can be returned if found.

Super Scientists!

The weather was beautiful last week, so we took advantage and did some science outdoors. Ask your child what we were looking for (schoolyard rocks) and what kinds of properties we sorted them by (size, color, texture, shape, etc.).

What are we learning?
