Sherman ISD Is Social Media Savvy!
Several schools throughout the nation first began using social media around 2008. Many questioned the role it played in school communications. They worried about privacy, control, and relevance. Social media was confusing. We knew how to create and use media, by putting out newsletters, publications, letters, or emails in a formal or straightforward manner.
Fast forward to 2018 and will are all in with social media usage. Granted, sometimes, social media can be a bit confusing, it is also a tool that allows our school district to promote the very best of public education. Each day in Sherman ISD, we are posting information and showcasing the teaching and learning that is happening on all of our campuses. It allows us to share our everyday Bearcat story and demonstrate, through a quick video or photo, how we are #BuildingBearcats.
We encourage all of you to like and follow your campus and Sherman ISD social media pages on Facebook and Twitter. Get connected and #Like #Post and #Share our information with our cyber community!

Sherman ISD School Guardian Program Application Process is Now Open
The safety and security of Sherman ISD students and staff are paramount, and the District fully understands that SISD staff are first on the scene in the event of an emergency intruder situation. As a result, the Board of Trustees established local policies CKC, DH, and GKA to facilitate the implementation of a School Guardian Program. This program permits selected and approved employees to receive the necessary training and carry a concealed firearm on Sherman ISD property. An application process is currently available for interested and eligible employees. If you would like to consider applying as a School Guardian, please contact Tyson Bennett, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, at tbennett@shermanisd.net or 903-891-6415.
Maintenance and Operations
The Maintenance and Operations Department is hiring for custodial and grounds crew positions. If you know someone that would be a great addition to the Bearcat family, please have them visit our website at www.ShermanISD.net to apply online or in person in the Human Resources Department.
