I'll See You Again- Richard Smallwood

I'll see you again
where the sun is always shining.
I'll see you again
Where sorrows are no more
Where we'll join hands together
And we'll sing around the throne
can't hardly wait till the day
I'll see you again

Consolation

You would always remind me that following every period of desolation I can count on there being a period of consolation. The desolation is in knowing you are no longer with us physically. The consolation is knowing we will see you again.

We Love You Padre,

You Verb Family

You Might Be a Cross Country Runner If.....

... people say, "You run 3 miles....at once?"

... your calves are bigger than your biceps.

... Gatorade is your drug of choice.

... a 7 mile run is an easy day.

... you can eat your weight in spaghetti.

... YOU'RE RUNNING AND DON'T KNOW WHY!

Good luck to our 2018-2019 XC Team!

Interim Assessment Week

Interim Assessment Week (a.k.a. Midterms) occur once a semester. It is a week when students are tested on everything they were taught for the entire semester. That week is coming (schedule below)! Stay ready so you don't have to get ready.

The EXPERT in anything was once a BEGINNER.

Verbum Dei Unveils New House System to Strengthen Community!

Big picture
In the Fall of 2018, Verbum Dei launched our new house system. Students, faculty, and staff were divided amongst five houses. Students will remain in their houses until they graduate.

Each house has a patron saint, motto, and a house date when the house is celebrated. Each house also has two appointed leaders, or House Masters, that help coordinate house activities and are members of the Principal's Council (see chart below).

The goal of the House System is to provide an opportunity for students and faculty to interact across grade level, create a more intimate supportive environment for students, and increase feelings of identity and belonging within the school community. In doing so, the school community will benefit from positive peer pressure, increased school spirit, and healthy competition.

We look forward to watching this program grow!

Importance of Academic Clubs

Academic clubs offer students another way of being engaged outside of the regular classroom setting. Being involved in academic clubs can open doors for your future and give you some social networking time with friends. School subjects, career fields, technology, or a special interest topic can be the focus of an academic club.*

Listed below are the clubs offered at Verbum Dei during this 2018-2019 school year. Let's get involved!

If you have any questions regarding cubs please email Ms. Bowie, abowie@verbumdei.us.

The Grad at Grad is a list of six characteristics that all Jesuit, Cristo Rey schools hope their graduates will embody. For Verbum Dei, this list represents the overall goals of our academic, athletic, and spiritual programs.
