Principal's Points
In January students took their second round of NWEA testing. This data gives us information related to student growth and achievement. I am happy to announce that, once again, Foster Elementary students exceeded national benchmarks and showed tremendous growth from fall to winter in the nationally normed, NWEA assessments.
The graphs, show the percentage of students (includes in-person and remote students) that achieved at or above the grade level norm for both math and reading. The percentage of Foster Elementary students that are at or above grade level has increased in all grade levels in both math and reading. What is not shown on the graphs is that the amount of growth that students have shown is above the norm for growth in the nation. This is a huge accomplishment that should be celebrated.
I've said it before and I will keep saying it, thank you for working with us this year as we continue to navigate through educating during a pandemic. There have been many changes over the course of the year and we know that is not easy for any family. The staff at Foster are grateful for the relationships that we maintain with our students and their families. Together we will get through this and be a stronger community for it.
