School Update
Dear Parents and Carers
I do hope you are well and coping with the challenges that a National Lockdown brings.
Remote Learning
The highlight of my week is the Zoom catch up and worship sessions on Thursdays and Fridays with classes across the school. It is really wonderful to see all the children and hear about the fabulous work that they have been doing. Thank you to parents and carers for the amazing support that is being given to the children and the school at this difficult time. It is really great that we are able to still have time when we can come together and celebrate our achievements as a school family!
As a school we are working hard to ensure that our remote learning offer is flexible and in line with the recent guidance from OFSTED ‘What’s Working Well’.
Our Remote Learning Plan has also recently been updated and can be found on our school website via the following link:

Staff at school fully understand that the challenges at this time for families can be varied and complex. If you need support, reassurance or just want to say thanks, please do contact class teachers via email.

Mrs McCormick
Congratulations to Mrs McCormick who last week was appointed as the new headteacher at Kirkby and Great Broughton Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School. She will be starting in her new role after Easter and although we will be very sad to say goodbye to Mrs McCormick, we are really pleased for her as she moves on to a new exciting opportunity in her career.
Mrs McCormick is a really valued member of our leadership team and a very talented teacher. I am sure that Kirkby and Great Broughton School will be very pleased that they will be getting such a dedicated, committed, caring and enthusiastic new Headteacher.
The governors and myself are already in the process of looking at teaching in Year 3 for the summer term to ensure that the children continue to receive high quality provision.
Have a good weekend
Kind regards
Steve Holmes
Headteacher
