1. Be Your Own Movement Specialist
It's not simply "crushing it" to be super sore and swole, but rather being in tune with your body and heart, and being your own holistic movement specialist! Listen to this sentence and recognize the difference: It's about body-work instead of just "working the body." And speaking in terms of nutrition, the awareness today is more of a medicinal intake rather than quick fixes, powders & diet fads. Healthy lifestyle habits are what we are after.
Fitness tracking is fantastic and highly recommended, but the first recommendation is to create a balanced holistic routine to keep your body in constructive injury-free movement. Whatever your personal fitness goals are, it's healthy to keep in mind the entire physique, from top to bottom. Do that by weekly incorporating these four ways to train the body: strength, cardio, core and flexibility. The better routine lies in that balance. Throughout the course of your movements (workouts) keep in mind that you are your own movement specialist. The idea is construct a strong, lean flexible machine!
The wide array of services we offer in the Coliseum and throughout JH are not simply "any service", they represent a methodical whole-body therapeutic structure.
Jump in as many onsite offerings as you can! Take advantage of the advantages. You'll be glad you did.
4. Joe Knows How to Row
"The rowing machine is a great cardio piece that gets overlooked. It's a total body workout that has low impact on the joints and is a great fat burning machine. I add the rower to my routine as either a warm-up, interval training or a 3-5 minute cool down. I challenge myself by watching the meters and watts. Here is my form. Don't act like you're not impressed."
Try the rowing machine! And please feel free to ask a Coliseum team member for assistance. Proper form and technique photos attached!
