- Read the Prologue
- After reading the Prologue, students will create the exposition using the online tool or the Graphic Organizer.
Please use the Guided Reading while reviewing the Prologue.
- Read the Parados
- Complete the Tone Exercise
o Reread the Chorus’ lines in Strophe 1
o Identify and record the following literary devices Sophocles employs to go over:
§ Opening Imagery
§ Personification
§ Metaphor
§ Military Diction (war words)
§ Tone (Sophocles’ attitude towards the civil war)
o For each of the literary devices, explain the affect each has on the passage.
· Students will complete the Storyboard Drawings Activity (on the back of the Antigone Prologue/Parados Analysis graphic organizer)
o Reread the Parados
o Create a storyboard, with 7 scenes (one for each of the 7 speaking parts).
o If the image presented is figurative, you should portray it figuratively in the storyboard.
