Thank you each and every parent who came out and helped for Field Day. Your help was essential in making the day so successful! The kids were actively engaged in all the activities throughout the day. We are fortunate to have such a amazing group of parents that support our school.

library books
All library books are now due. Please take a moment to check your students back packs for notices regarding overdue books. If your child has a book out, please help us get out beloved books back!
All families are responsible for the books they check out. If a book cannot be found or has become damaged they will need to be replaced. Replacement costs are indicated on the notices. Checks can be made payable to Dunning PTO. Parents will be billed for any book that is still out as of Tuesday 6/11. Please contact Mrs. May (kmay@framingham.k12.ma.us) with any questions.
Thank you for your help!
summer learning
We are so excited to kick off our Dunning Summer Learning Program for 2019! The goal of this program is to keep our community of readers and learners going strong even through the summertime!
This year, we are launching a school wide Book-A-Day challenge for the month of July. We are encouraging Dunning students to interact with a book in some way (read a whole book or just part of it) every day for the month of July. Any book or reading material counts! If you need book ideas, check out the FPS K-5 Summer Reading List (Spanish, Portuguese). Check out this list of great math books to keep the math learning happening too!!
On Move-Up day, K-4 students will get a tracking sheet to record their reading. There will also be an information packet explaining the program.
There are 3 ways students can participate.
Read a book at home and write the title on their tracking sheet.
Go to our CLOSED Facebook “Dunning Reads A Book A Day” group and with parent help and supervision, post a picture of a book they read or a video of them reading. Then, on the tracking sheet, check off that they posted on Facebook.
Watch the Facebook “Dunning Reads A Book A Day” group for videos of Dunning teachers reading aloud books. Then, on the recording sheet write down the name of the teacher who read the book!
In the Fall, we will celebrate our community of readers with Dunning Swag, book commercials and a slide show of our readers. We will also raffle off some gift cards to purchase books for our winners and their classrooms!
We can’t wait to hear about all the good books Dunning Pandas read this summer!
If you have any questions, email Brett (bberkman@framingahm.k12.ma.us) or Lauren (lwalton33@framingaham.k12.ma.us)

CARE & SHARE
The Jane Shapiro Care and Share began in 1995 as a Dunning School community service project. Each month a specific food item is collected at the school to help keep A Place to Turn's shelves stocked. What a great sharing and learning project! Donations are gathered up by the students and then with help from staff, they are delivered to A Place to Turn. Learn more about A Place to Turn here.
Thank you for your contributions to A Place to Turn during the year. Our monthly food collection makes a huge difference in our community, while teaching our students the importance of giving.
