Hooch Happenings
January 14, 2022
Todd's Tidbits
Hooch Community,
We did not start the Spring semester off like most of us would have wanted, but students have adjusted very well to the transition back to face-2-face learning!! Covid mitigations continue to be communicated from the district on a weekly basis and updates for next week (Jan. 18-Jan. 21) are as follows:
- Masks are required in all Fulton County Schools buildings through 1/21.
- Non-essential gatherings of staff and students are paused. To the extent possible, staff should utilize TEAMS. The 1/19 secondary coaches meeting is cancelled.
- Non-essential travel remains paused.
- Food service will be managed by principals with the cafeteria managers to maximize physical distancing and staggered timing.
- While we encourage principals to strategically use approved chaperones and volunteers, non-essential visitors remain limited.
Starting Tuesday, January 18, 2022, the following will be in place:
- Essential academic field trips are permitted. 1/18
- Third party facility rentals can resume. 1/18
- Clubs (k-12), extramural activities (k-12), and middle school athletics can resume. 1/18
- In- and out-of-season athletic and performing arts practices and competitions will continue with participant screening and indoor capacity limitations raised to 30% beginning Tuesday, 1/18.

DOES IT REALLY MATTER IF MY CHILD MISSES A FEW EXTRA DAYS EACH YEAR?
The answer is YES!! School attendance habits often carry over from Elementary to Middle to High School. The more days from school a student is absent, the harder it is for them to catch up with class work and homework. This can become very stressful for students and interfere with not only learning, but their motivation to attend school daily.
