Pasco eSchool Elementary School

Notes from the desks of Mrs. Senior and Mrs. Mitchell October 4, 2022

Hello Ninja Nation,

We hope all our families are doing well after Hurricane Ian. We understand that even though our area was very fortunate compared to so many other areas of Florida, it can still be troubling to our young children. Getting them back into their regular routine is one of the best ways to provide normalcy and security for them. Our teachers are eager to work with them and really missed them last week!

Red Ribbon Week

We are very excited to Celebrate Life during Red Ribbon Week this year. The festivities will begin on October 24th and end on October 28th. Each day will be focused on a different way we can celebrate healthy choices, set goals for the future, and stay drug-free. Students are encouraged to take a selfie each day to share in our Padlet. More information on contests and prizes will be coming as we get closer to this fun event. We hope everyone will participate!

Gallup Poll - Grade 5 Students

This year, Pasco County Schools will participate in the Gallup Student Poll. The Poll gives students a voice in building great schools, and the results provide schools with important, actionable information beyond standard measures, such as grades and test scores, to help schools make kids ready for the future.

Students in grades 5 through 12 will be invited to participate in the Gallup Student Poll during the survey window of September 26 through October 21. This survey will take approximately 10 minutes for your student to complete. It is available in both English and Spanish.

This survey is anonymous and voluntary. That means that Gallup cannot identify your student, and your student's individual responses will not be shared with anyone. Students do not have to participate if they do not want to, and they may skip any item they do not wish to answer. There are no consequences or penalties if your student does not participate.

The Gallup Student Poll covers the following themes:

• Engagement: Students' involvement and enthusiasm for school.

• Hope: The ideas and energy students have for the future.

• Belonging: reeling accepted and included as part of the school.

• Social and emotional learning: How people learn to understand and manage emotions and establish positive relationships with others.

We hope that students will use this opportunity to help us build the very best school for our students.

To Complete the Survey:

  1. Please have your child log into their MyPasco Connect
  2. Select the Gallup icon (See image above)
  3. Select Pasco eSchool as their school
  4. Answer the questions

FAST Testing - In Person for the Rest of the Year

FAST (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking)

This is a progress monitoring assessment that will be given three times a year. We are now at the end of the first testing window and we appreciate all of your patience as we have worked through this new testing system. The second (in December) and third (in May) testing sessions will both be held on campus. December dates for you soon, so you may make arrangements for your ninja to be on campus.

Live, In-Person Lessons

We are excited that live in-person lessons will be scheduled monthly and students are invited to visit our eSchool headquarters, located on the Crews Lake Middle School campus to join in the learning and fun. This will be a drop-off and pick-up event. We do not have the space for learning guides to stay with students this year. Students will be dropped off at 9:30 and picked up at 1:30. Please send your student with a lunch and drink. Lunch will not be provided.
