A note from Mrs. Harp!
Hello Penngrove Panthers!
I am very excited to be joining this wonderful school community as your new Principal! I look forward to seeing you and your students each day starting in the new school year. Please be sure to stop by to say hello!
I want you to feel you know me, so here is some information about who I am! I grew up in Santa Rosa, and currently live in Rohnert Park with my husband and our two kids, who are 12 and 9 years old. I am also a step-mom to two grown bonus kids, one of whom has recently flown the coop and now lives in Southern California. I have my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies, and my Masters of Educational Leadership and Supervision. I have been in education for over 18 years, teaching 4-9th grades in Rohnert Park, and a year as an Assistant Principal between two sites, and love everything about this profession. As a family, we enjoy camping, watching movies and playing family board games. On my own time, I love to exercise, read and enjoy the outdoors. Please give me a wave and shout of encouragement if you ever see me out running!
Children are the future of our society, and it is our job as educators to ensure their success. While academics are central to their success in education, the emotional health of our students is vital as well. I believe strongly in the role schools play in the social and emotional development of the students. Positive and trusting relationships with adults create an environment where children are free to learn and grow, knowing we are here to help them every step of the way. It really does take a village to raise children, and a school and its staff are that modern-day village. We are here to support you and your children.
Timely, clear and consistent communication with all members of our community will be a top priority for me. Additionally, my door will always be open, so please drop by with any concerns, questions or just for a quick chat.
As your Principal, I am here for our students and families. I love building relationships and look forward to many years of creating connections with each of you.
Go Panthers!!
Stay Awkward, Brave and Kind,
Carley Harp
