CMSD Humanities Demonstration of Learning Showcase
District-Wide Celebration of Learning Day
October 28, 2022
The first district-wide Celebration of Learning Day for this school year will be October 28, 2022. The district will provide one to two-week-long humanities-themed PBL experiences for grades 1 - 8 for this first opportunity. The projects will be aligned to the quarter 1 scope and sequence for Social Studies. You can find the district-written projects in our Safe Practice Schoology Course. The access code to join the course is RG2T-2FVQ-H6G67. The projects are currently under construction, but we wanted to show educators what is available early to give them time to choose whether or not to participate. Please continue to check back to see the fully written projects.
We are encouraging educators who wish to provide their own demonstration of learning to participate on this day as well. The goal is to have every scholar participate in a demonstration of learning at least once this year. The demonstrations of learning can be through a district-written opportunity or something that an individual educator designs on their own.
Please let us know if you and your students will be participating in the first district-wide Celebration of Learning Day on October 28 by completing THIS Microsoft Form. Please complete the Form by October 7 if you intend to participate.
Finally, we will be starting our first PBL writers Community of Practice. We anticipate starting this CoP in early October, with the goal being to write one full PBL experience for your students to engage in during the second quarter. Participants will be compensated according to the Community of Practice MOU. This Community of Practice is only open to those educators who have experience with project-based learning. Please identify your intent to participate in this Community of Practice in the Microsoft Form linked above.
